LOS ANGELES (AP) — Health officials say California whooping cough
cases are soaring with the 584 confirmed cases representing a threefold
increase over the same period last year when there were 190 cases.

Five infants have died, including one in San Bernardino more than a
month ago.

California Department of Public Health officials said the Central
Valley, San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles area have seen the most
dramatic rises in whooping cough during the five-month period ending May
31.

Whooping cough, known as pertussis, can cause adults to experience
severe coughing spells lasting up to four months. Infants are most
vulnerable to the bacterial disease.

Reintroduced?  It's never gone away.  It's always been here and it's cyclical.  Some years have more cases than others.

I think I caught that shit from some of the undocumented cafeteria workers back at the old job. I was literally coughing up a lung for over 8 months. I'd cough so much that there was no time to breath in between coughs and almost felt like passing out.

It was some fucked up shit, the doctor said it was allergies. BS. I've never had allergies in my life and it took almost 2 years for the cough to go completely away but it's gone now.

I had it a couple of years ago. To say it sucks and that I was pissed would be a huge understatement.

On top of it I ended up giving it to my grand daughter.

Freaking hippies and conspiracy whacko's who believe vaccines are responsible for autism and other illnesses.  Last time I checked, a dead child is much worse than one with autism.

Am I the only one wondering what the 'ethnicity' of the victims was?
