Vegans and vegetarians are only that way because they live in a rich society. They live in an environment that allows them to make enough money to leisurely travel to a local hippy-mart and be as picky as they want.

They don't have to worry about their next meal - its guaranteed!

Vegetarianism is purely a product of luxury. A result of enormous choice. Its a mindset that is no less than naive.

I'd bet my firearms collection that your run-of-the mill vegan / vegetarian would eagerly and happily fight you over a fat juicey steak if they were starving.

Starvation changes the chemical balance in your brain. You become someone else. Vegetarians have never experienced it.

Well, yeah if you're starving anything goes. Muslims are allowed to eat pork if they have no other alternative.
