Now I have a reason. My daughter decided to hang out at the skate park or she would have been in that seat. Everybody ok. Guy tried to beat a red light and hammered the car.

Looks like an improvement, what's the problem?

Hope everyone is OK. And there's always a reason to get rid of a Taurus.

Well, that'll do it. Hoping everyone's alright.

BTW. Intersection looks.....familiar. Can't put my finger on it and can't make out the street sign.

Eat a pasty lately?

Colorado and Montana look a lot alike apparently.

If you're not hurting now, you will be tomorrow
Link Posted: 12/12/2013 7:43:49 PM EDT
Meh, I've seen worse rolling down the road.

So what if it is a bit dog-legged?  It still rolls. Some duct tape and clear plastic will fix that window right.

Seriously, I hope no one was hurt.

You don't need a reason to get rid of a ford.

Did you blade at 45* and yell "YOU WILL NOT TOUCH MY VEHICLE"?

If you did, it didn't work.

I personally think that the new body style Taurus is one of the best looking cars around---especially the SHO.

Good reason, but it looks like it held up well.

I noticed you don't have side impact bags. Those are actually worth it--I'd make sure to have those in my next vehicle if I were you.

ETA: Or maybe you do and they disable if nobody is in the seat?

Get a new taurus now.  They're a much better looking car now and they make one with that twin turbo v6 that hauls butt.

Glad you weren't hurt OP.

I think that car as made before side impact bags were really a thing

Glad to hear you're OK. I had a Taurus of that vintage. The first 100K miles were fine, but it turned into a money pit after that.

Correct no side impact bags. That is a 2003 model

Glad everyone was ok. I've worked a few crashes with that model of Taurus. They folded up pretty easily. In fact, my niece got killed in one. Single car MVA, she tagged a bridge guardrail. Her son, my godchild, survived with a broken collarbone at 18 months old.

I'd buy the Taurus from you if you are anywhere close to MN.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 8:15:50 AM EDT
Now go get a new Taurus and enjoy what is probably the finest full-size sedan America has ever made.
Link Posted: 12/13/2013 9:19:56 AM EDT
OP, hope all is well and you weren't hurt and that any soreness isn't too bad.

I had a 2006 Maxima... nice car, V6, 26MPG on average, heated leather seats, Bose stereo (I know Bose blows). I traded it in on a 2012 Taurus... it's lacking in leather, heated seats, and Bose but the car is fine. It's averaging 27.2 MPG according to the computer, has V6, 4 doors, and looks pretty good.

They've come a long way since the bowking ball model you're getting out of...

Still street legal in MI, just put a bag over the window, and make sure the door stays shut.
