IIRC "propper" is THE brand.

I'm probably wrong though.

I dunno if they've changed it or not, but one thing to look for is this peculiar horizontal fold at the front of BDU pants at the knees. Issue BDUs are the only ones I've seen that have this; it lets the legs bend without the pants leg riding up in front.

Well, what you really want are the bootleg MARPAT uniforms.

Propper are great and US made.  Also, Tru Spec are almost as good quality and a little cheaper but imported.  Try hdesert.com for great prices and service.

I never have figured out sizing for BDUs.

Aggh! That little fold at the knee for flexing sucks when you want a nice crease on a pressed set of BDU's. Not all USGI have it. Most didn't from what I saw. Try looking at the metal waist cinch. It should be black painted brass and the fly should have a storm door that buttons on the inside too. Helps keep the little trooper from escaping or getting cold.

I remember hearing something about true mil-spec BDU's being treated with IR absorbent chemicals, and that the military shreds excess uniforms rather then let the civilian market have these treated BDU's.
