Watch it again.

It just seems so off some times, the way the car moes forward and the revs of the engine.

Has anyone seen any proof of him getting arrested for filming this?

It's bullshit.  I'm about 87% certain.

Somethimes the sound of redline and the perspective on speed is questionable.

Most of it looks to be driven around 80mph.

For the speeds they're claiming, he's just not passing the cars fast enough.

Yup. Watch some ghostrider videos. They give you an idea of what 120-180mph really is.

I don't recall them making any claims of actual speeds attained.  The fact that they are running through the streets of Paris with flagrant disregard of the law combined with a camera mounted at bumper height with a glorious engine soundtrack makes the vid..

Most believe the sountrack was added later, but the director did own a 275 GTB at the time. If you look closely , you can see the reflection of a flashing light on the roof used to warn traffic.

As far as the speed.......interesting......

Actually, it needs a bit more violence…

What I want to see is a monster truck doing 100 kph through Paris.

Extra points for dragging multiple Vespas for more than a block.
X2 for a bloodied cheese-eating-surrender-monkey clinging to the hood screaming for U.N. assistance.

When I say BS I mean the engine revs vs the movement of the car.

I play enough racecar simulation (one even has the 275) to know what it's like and it's WAY OFF.
That is the true sound of that engine but at the way it was revving out when hw was getting out of alot of the turns, he should have been going faster.

Most of the tire scrubbing is off  REAL bad as well.
At first you could dismis it for the cobblestone but on regular pavement the tires have that same off tire scrub sound.
A few of the turns would have been more then scrub(turn taken too fast), it should have been smoking of the tires(a deep howl) followed by a slight or large fishtail depending how soon and hard he got back on the gas.

If the engine was recorded seperately and then had to be timed later and what I'm hearing is just an error in editing(it was the late 70's still) that's one thing.

If the engine sounds don't match the speed cause it never was revving that high and the tire scrub was added afterwards, it's of no value to me. It's a fake.

If someone wants to see the most hardcore video, look for the one of the RUF Porsche going around Nurburgring Norschlef for a lap. Most amazing display of man vs. machine I've ever seen.

If someone had a hosting space I could post that RUF Porsche at the "ring".

It's not even 14megs.

I think the vid was BS as well.  About a minute in  he takes some curves and passes traffic, and then revs the shit out of the engine on a long strait; but if you look at the trees he's passing, I'd venture to say he's hardley doing over a hundred.  Winding out a Ferrari like that should easily put you in the 150+ range, and the landscape moves by a helluva lot quicker than that.  Plus the tire scrub noises were just too dramatic, it sounded like a Nick Cage movie.

I just watched it again.

Shit man that is intense.

Porsche's handle like no other cars, you're really steering the rear end of the car when it't taken to the limit.

Look for the following filename in google, you guys will find it.
RUF-Nurburgring-1.wmv

Since it says 1, there could be more....

That  275 video is boring as hell to watch.

For the Nurburgring also check out the M3 GTR video.  The quality is also much better than the yellowbird RUf porsche.

For some real public high speed chases check out the getaway in stockholm series.  Part 2 with a supra and escort cosworth are worth watching.  These guys race through stockholm sweeden early in the morning when there are barely any cars on the road.  At one point the supra is doing around 190mph.  If you have high speed ISP theres alot of places hosting the full length vids.

Anybody with a Playstation 2 and a copy of GT4, see how many of the turns you recognize...

Seeing this video makes me want to go buy GT4, the ring was a pretty faithful representation from the looks of this video.    Rented GT4 along with a decent wheel, was a damn fun thing to do.

Ahhh I see you found it.

Never played GT4 but from what I hear it is the most accurate model of nurburgring nordschleife.

I have a classic race car game and someone just release the ring but a 1983 version. It's amazing all the changes they've made during it's lifespan.
