I totally agree. After all, it was my father's birthday, and I think the country should celebrate that [:D]. My wife's birthday is already a national holiday (July the 4th), and I need to keep the other side of the family quiet.

Seriously, my dad always said that 6June, 1944 was the best birthday present he ever got.  I don't know if it needs to be a national "day off from work" type of holiday, but surely is an event that all of us, as Americans, should make note of as it comes around.
