Theres hardly any ammo on the market, and what is cost an arm, leg, and a right nut.  Im thinking about selling my bushy patrolmans carbine, with 8 mags, cleaning kit, hard case, and ma tech buis.   How much do you think I would get for it?  Its only has about 1000 rounds thru it....   I have an eotech 552, but im keeping that.

I'll give you $87.00 for it.

Ammo isn't that expensive, unless you are one of those guys who likes to blast 1000 rounds every week.
Go to Wal-Mart, buy some WWB value packs.

If 5.56 is too steep for you right now, get a .22LR conversion kit and enjoy.

When was the last time you saw WWB value packs at Wally world?  I haven't seen them in probably close to a year.

I dont get it,,  you are armed..  go steal some.

when you get busted blame it on the weapon ..   the weapon took you hostage  you are a victim.

the rifle will then be locked up /..

and..... if you dont get caught.. well then you now have ammo

No doubt... get a Ceiner kit, some 30-round mags for it, and blast away.

+1 and do they work well and any problems on the host gun?

Unless your sure your never getting another I'd consider keeping the mags and stuff. Over the last 3 months I got rid of all 3 of my AR's and a couple extra uppers. Kept a dozen 30 rounders and 8 20's though since I plan on getting a Masada when/if it's available. Still got a few thousand rounds of 5.56 too and no gun for it

With pending legislation in light of recent events, I would hold on to it.  Why sell your AR?  Do you have other rifles and this one just sits or is this your only semi-auto long gun?

Check out Sportsmans Guide. I just ordered 4K of Wolf Mil. Classic for under $650 shipped. Not too bad considering its about $190 per K everywhere else.

So whats your go to gun now? I just traded an A1 I built for an ACOG I figured I needed a damn good optic more than a third AR-15

Never sell any of your guns.  They will only appreciate in value.

Look into a good progressive reloader and blast away. Still not cheap. But resonable. Also the more you buy (ammo) the less they charge. Get together with some frends and place a large order might save some that way.

AR's were never my goto gun they were always locked in the safe, I have a WASR2, and mossy590 that sit outside the safe although now i could actually fit them in the safe if I wanted too. I'm in NY also so all but 1 were neutered ban configuration, once I'm in a free state I'll probably build another one.

With the price of ammo going up and 5.45 being the cheapest, how come no one is offering an upper set up for 5.45X39?

(wow, I own pg 2)

How many firearms do you own?

If it's one or two, or you are thinking you will get another AR in the future "when ammo gets cheap", that is a mistake that will cost you a boat load when you decide to buy.  You are better off putting the rifle under the bed; it's presumably paid for, it doesn't eat, it doesn't take up much space, and it's value is not going to decline.

A .22 RF upper is the best suggestion so far.

Reloading isn't quite as cheap as it used to be, I buy most of my plinking ammo now.
