Spent the last couple of days at my grandmother's place. Plenty of extra bedrooms and space for me and my deer hunting buddies. She and my uncle have a couple of dogs as well as 10 or so strays that they can't get the county to come and pick up.
Damn dogs bark at every little thing. I was skinning a couple of deer in the barn Monday afternoon, damn dogs just start going off and surround the barn. Mr G19 barked once and they shut up. Monday night I go to get something out of my truck, dogs descend on me again. Mr G19 makes another appearance, barks once again, only this time Mr Pooch gets a 127 gr. Hydrashok to the head. Bad thing is that I didn't intend on killing the dog. All I can figure is that the bullet ritchotted as I was pointing the gun about 10' in front of the dog. Now I've killed a lot of stray dogs in my life. More than I care to think about. Hopefully the last dog I ever kill as it bothered me all night. Don't even know why I posted this... |

Way to go skippy.
I don't know why you posted this either, strike two |
Great gun safety there, chief.
"I didn't mean to kill him, officer! I was aiming 10' in front of him!" |
What went though your head to even think to use a gun to shut them up? I thought one of the main rules of guns was not to point the gun at anything you don't want to kill?
What happend to paying attention to what is behind your point of aim? A good safe shooter always knows where his bullets (ritchottes included) are gonna land. Sorry but this thread is so full of FAIL I don't even want to list all the things you did wrong. Unfortunately the poor dog paid for your many mistakes. |
Even joking that was uncalled for... |
Were you getting something out of the truck, or opening the door to the short bus? Shooting a gun to get dogs to quit barking? Come on! I really hope you made this up.
Don't worry dude, it's just your granmothers dog. You should have shot it. It was bugging you. Self control isn't really something an adult should have a handle on anyway. I sure hope your grandmother is the quiet type, we wouldn't want you to try the 10' trick to get her to stifle it.

If he's not he should be! Seriously though... uhhhh wtf? My dad brought his stupid old dog over last night and it pooped on my tile and barfed on the rug! I should have shot the little wiener bastard! |
Wow that is utterly retarded, not something I would post on the internet let alone ARFCOM.
I hope you realize you're a low grade moron who shouldn't be allowed to handle dangerous weapons. Would have served you fucking right if you'd shot yourself instead of the dog. Try to remember from now on, it's a gun, not a noisemaker.
+1 the OP's actions are so thoroughly fucking idiotic and stupid it almost smells of troll. maybe you oughtta think about selling your weapons as you obviously don't have the common sense and self-control to own anything like them. |
+1 Granny must be proud. |

I was convinced since day 1 on his posts. It's just taken a while for him to slip up and start to really begin some trolling. |
Quite strange since I've been here almost two years longer than you. I didn't start this to troll. I started it to confess a gun sin and get called out for it. I'm not bragging, I'm confessing. |
She heard the shot, didn't think anything of it as I do it regularly when I'm at the farm. She and my uncle didn't take it too well when I told them about the dog. |
Since the day I first saw your posts. |
Did this happen during the same trip where you shot through the brush at the doe, inspiring this timeless quote?
$20 says your next post is about "accidentally" shooting either grandma or one of your hunting buddies. |
You are a dumbass. You really should re-read the rules of gun safety.
Lessoned learned...
move on... and yes it was a shitty move on your part. |
I still don't get why you'd shoot to quiet the dogs down, and then shooting one by accident? Good grief. Either the dog is a threat, in which case fine to shoot it, or it's not and you don't. Sounds like a case of horrible gaps in thinking and worse firearm control.
Wow, this is the same guy? He is either an idiot or posting this crap on purpose. |

You ain't no umpire. Get back to the cheap seats. |

Somehow it's never occurred to me, either, to blaze away at grannie's dogs for barking. |
