Ok I'll admit it I was looking at porn so I should have know better. Anyway I got infested by some crap that I can't get rid of. The files I need to delete are all in the C:\windows\system32 file
they are

these are the ones Mcafee keeps finding but I can't quarentine them, delete, or clean them.
I found them in my C directory and can't delete them because they are in use. Can I get at them in the registry and if so where would they be located?

So much for my first day off in 4 weeks. I should've gone to work
Oh and how convienient I'm getting hammered with anti spyware ads by Quake and a few others

If he'd leave his 'hard drive' alone, he wouldn't have this problem.

Alt+Ctrl+Del and close everything except taskbar and explorer.

Delete your troubles then.

If they keep respawning themselves just close them faster or restart in safe mode and "find" them.

A few to try ..

AVG Free

Trend Micro home scan

Hijack this ( sometimes allows you to manual delete the files )

CW Shredder ( works wonders for browser hi-jackers

Get AVG Free It will "Quarantine" the affected software and stop giving you headaches

AVG is good, but you may have to be in safe mode.

If you are running Windows XP you can return to yesterday or the day before and lose your problems along with your porn files. I had to do this to lose a "bug".
I don't remember the procedure but you can dig it out of the manual. I think NT and maybe 2000 has this option also.
DITTO on AVG Free and AdAware. Be careful where you download from. try Cnet first.
