The good ole' Northern Dakota. Land and real estate is cheap (excluding boom areas), the people are friendly, hardworking, folk, and the laws are quite acceptable. The the hunting and fishing are quite good, the summers are nice and hot, spring and fall are just right, and winter, well, its cold. The majority of my best childhood memories include me driving around with my 20 gauge and .22 looking for blackbirds with my grandpa and shooting out the window over the miles of uninhabited cropland, pulling northerns out of Hulverson, opening up the Yamaha 250 on a dirt road for miles, with no witness besides the creatures and god himself, relaxing with family next to a fire, or lighting fireworks in the street of Towner. I fully intend to move there eventually. Any ND afrcommers, im curious as to where you are located. As to everyone else regarding my opinion, flame suit on

Edited to add North Dakota feeds the other states as well

Despite the small population, there is lots of good poon to be had I live in Fargo though. Naturally, the proportions shrink
the more rural you get.

I still have some land there, sold some a few years back sadly not near the oil fields

That place is cold and flat during the winter then hot and flat during the summer.

As my dad said, ND is a good place to be FROM.

1. No good Messican food there.
2. Can't barbecue in your undershorts in January.

What happens in your state when a little ice hits the road, along with some blowing snow?

Nordak & Montana have special places in my heart because of the truly great people and GOOD friends I have there.

But you have to take in to account the entire region.

Montana has great hunting and no sales tax.

Nordak great people, pretty darn good hunting.

Sodak, great hunting, NO income tax.

Wyoming, again great hunting & NO income tax.

It seems to me, the best place to live is in the area nearby all four state's borders to take advantage of the benefits of all of them.

I spent 2 days riding around ND on my motorcycle.
Came in from MN, through Fargo and out over near Wiliston.

It was flat as holy fuck all, Lots of farmland and damned good people I met along the way.
I also stopped as close as I could get to the US/North America's tallest radio tower.

ND did not make too much of an impression on me. Its a nice place, but I dunno about living there.

After that crossing, I spent about 2 weeks hanging out on a buddy's farm (5 sqaure) just west of Sidney,MT.

It was not flat, but rolling hills, amazing people. Only drawback was "there are no fucking trees!"
I saw, maybe, 3 trees that would have made a good fire.....Other than that...it was cool.

Western MT was....well....amazing. Most of Montana was pretty damned neat. Saw black helos escorting a nuke, and had fun riding along at 100mph + with the scouts.
They were just like , when the realized I was just playing with them. That was a fun 70 or so miles.

I have spent many, many years, and many many miles (close to 3 million) traveling the USA, The NW/PNW is the most amazing out of all the lower 48.
MT,ID,WY (Flaming Gorge FTMFW!) ,SD, OR,WA (minus STL) is a true Heaven.
