Xmas party tonight with some single gals around my age(35). Dress wasn't specified but I want to look good and make a statement. Remember this is Idaho, like TX where a starched pair of Wrangler blue jeans is like wearing slacks.

Update: Just got home, won't go into details, but everything went alright.

Here is what I went with(and I did straighten my tie before I left)

I think you should wear which ever conceals your carry pistol best! That is how I would decide.

#1 and lose the tie.

Funny you should mention this, but I have the same dilemma. My suit is similar to your green one, though darker and with some fine black stripe checkering.

GF thinks a white shirt is the only way to go and is getting pissy about it. I think a black dress shirt looks damn cool. I think of the white dress shirts as something for an interview.

What say you?

ETA, I will be wearing black dress shoes, black belt.

Go with #2 or#3 but use black boots to match your hat and A compact handgun worn behind hip.Depending on the party you could go crossdraw like Chuck Norris. No kidding!!!

I think option 3 needs to go to the cleaners!

I pulled the camera out of a 4 degree pickup, had to put it in the oven at 170 to unfog it. The jacket is clean. Just some floaters in the camera.

Help, it is time to start ironing. I don't think a gal has posted yet. Or are my clothes just so lame that they don't want to hurt my feelings.

Para P12...all of them work. The gal next door said "Just the White Shirt". Gotta have an overlayer.

What color are your hair and eyes???
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 2:46:18 PM EDT
OK, nevermind the hair and eyes...

#3 with a white shirt for a more formal look
OR
#2 with a black shirt for a more bad guy looking good look

#1 and DO NOT lose the tie. Ties are HOT. Ties can be used as props in other things and don't think that we girls don't think about that when we see a man in a tie.... It doesn't matter that we would never DO those things with someone we just met... we think about it, and that is what you want.

I know you are out "West", but since when is it OK to wear cowboy boots with a suit jacket?
Link Posted: 12/17/2005 3:36:50 PM EDT
3rd option. Nix the shit-kicker boots.

I would have to believe that the boots worn with a suit would be better than the ones in the pics, then. And people out west need to rethink that being allowable fashion-wise; it looks downright hayseed.

so, if you are trying to impress boys, you should lose the tie.

None of the women have had that opinion, so if you are trying to impress the ladies...
Link Posted: 12/18/2005 9:54:08 AM EDT
the tie in 1 sucks

there is a womans opinion on that tie in particular--ties in general are fine

i like jacket number one

Just because things rhyme, doesn't mean they go together. Case-in-point: boots and suits.

For Idaho, are string ties "out"?

Tie 2 I like.

Maybe you could borrow a proper Western jacket.

Oops! Too late.

Dude, Tie is OK, suit is OK, even boots are OK, but LOSE THE FRIGGIN' CATERPILLAR ON YOUR LIP!!

I thought the 1980 ended 25 years ago, no?

Don't let him snow you. It is a select few who "think" that it is acceptable. Usually, they are the only ones who do. I have lived here nearly all my life and only wore crap-kickers once. Hell, the only thing they are good for is riding horses (no one here does that ALL the time) and impressing horse oriented females (run Forrest, RUN!). Planerench out.

Let's clear a few things up, I'm a GIRL. Hence the "chyck" part of my name. I have never lived in any southern state. I HAVE lived on both coasts. I don't particularly care what "shit-kickers" are for. My ilk call them cowboy boots. If you go out (in my region) to clubs where the prevalent music is country, you will see guys wearing jeans, cowboy boots, button down shirts, and they come in with suit jackets, but most remove them for the dancing. I am not a "horse-oriented female"; but I am not alone in thinking the look is hot. I also think that ties add a bit of class to any man.

I'm not trying to "snow" anyone. I'm giving an opinion and saying that I am not alone in that opinion. Accept my opinion or don't. Listen to the people in your own cultural realm, since we seem to be worlds apart.

Sometimes boys on this site seem to be so entangled in "mine is bigger than yours" cock fights. Proving that someone is wrong becomes more important that the topic they are debating.

THIS IS AN OPINION OF HOW SOMETHING LOOKS. There is no right and wrong.

And back to the thread, Wildland firefighter, I think you looked hot for your night out! I'm sure you had a good time.

Link Posted: 12/18/2005 5:51:45 PM EDT
Hopefully you didn't tuck your trouser legs into the boots, though. Nothing looks worse.

You look very spiffy thar man! But your tie is on crooked!

Good choice BTW.

[ETA: Seeing that you're a big fella, next time try a Windsor knot on your tie. A single knot looks too small for you.]

that a fake stach?

Trim it bro, get some handle bars.
