Do you have a specific purpose for these boots in mind, or are you really going to both hike and cross train in them? If so, what do you consider cross training? I think we're going to need more info to help you out.

I think we're going to need more info to help you out. Basically I need the comfort of an athletic shoe with ankle support and a more rugged tread. They will be used for shooting, some trail hiking as well as some everyday use. I just called them hiker/cross trainer hybrid because that's waht they look like to me. I don't know the technical classification. |

You need Merrells or Salomons or something of that type of brand/shoe.
They got what you are looking for. If you will be hiking/running in them, you will not want a shoe that is stiff unless you will be carrying alot of weight. |
