I sold the SLR rail off of my 11.5" pistol (form 1 pending) and I'm looking for a replacement. I've decided to go with a quad rail and I'm a bit out of the loop.
A Daniel Defense MK18 rail would be nice, but I'm not paying $500 for it. I would also prefer a 10" and I think the MK18 is 9". I'm looking to spend about $250 but wouldn't have a problem spending up to $300 for something nice. What's recommended? ETA: Lightweight is a must and I strongly prefer something slim. I realize SLR makes one, but I don't like the mounting system. |

Why would you sell off a superior product and now seek an inferior product?

I have an old surefire rail on the first AR I ever bought. It's just fine.
And I'm sure that doesn't help at all. The quad rail that came on my 12" Stealth upper is pretty nice. Plus, LaRue swag. |
|
I was fairly impressed with the guntec rail I purchased a couple weeks ago.

Free floated or mounts on the Delta ring? DD Omega does a good job of both roles.

Daniel Defense. Any of them are GTG including the old big ringed M4 rails.

G Mk8. Unless you want super slim them a Midwest G2SS.
Add the rails where you want them. |

I don't think that any are "superior", they're just different. View Quote SLR rails are far superior to the 90's tech of quad rails. It's not even debateable. MLOK or Keymod, either way you add a rail to mount where needed and don't add a rail when no mount is needed. Saves weight, and the egos are bigly enhanced. |

URX2 10.75 should work since the muzzle shoulder on your 11.5 will be just slightly ahead. Also, the MK18 rails are 9.5" long Bottom one is 11.5 300BLK with the 10.75" URX2 https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7416/16370147520_7517757112_b.jpg View Quote I like the URX, but it's difficult to get one assembled seeing as how the wrench is so overpriced; |

I installed a C4 Carbine Cutout this weekend. I'm extremely happy with it. I'm another who would highly recommend Centurion's stuff.

Troy makes a FF Quad rail, got mine on sale for 100 bucks
inb4 "Fuck Troy" EDIT: Larue would be a better choice |

DD Lite rail 3.0/DDM4 rail has a similar profile to the RIS2, but is lighter, uses a simpler lockup, and is a single piece design.

What's the cheapest (heavy is fine/preferred) free float quad rail for a 20" CMP/NRA Hipower build?
I can't see any point in a modern FF system for this, since the only thing that will get attached to it is a sling, and it has to have all 4 rails per the rules. |
|
I picked up a couple of DD rails; both original M4 and Lite version FSP off the EE for a song. Please, keep the "cheese grater", "heavy" and "obsolete" narrative going. I have two more ARs I need to equip.
|
|
Centurion Arms C4 is what you're looking for.
Say you want 10"? It's 11.8oz with the nut. That's fairly light for a quad. A comparable length KMR Alpha is 8.6oz with the nut. |

I think keymod will grate cheese better than a quad actually would. Anyone up to the challenge? |

Get the one with four rails on it.
Has anyone ever had a rail system fore-end fail on them? Is high-speed Tier-Zero operator money best spent on those parts, and not other bits? |

SLR or Odin works.
Just built an rifle with an OW handguard. It is LIGHT! |
