What do you guys recommend?

I'm looking at a Denon AVR 1912 receiver with Energy Take Classic 5.1 speakers.  My budget is $1000.

Pretty good picks. The Energys are a great bang for the buck.

Also look into an Onkyo system.  I just upgraded mine after 10 years.  Blew some of the cheap speakers along the way, but the receiver and powered sub are still going strong.
