I watch maybe 2 hours of tv a month. I guess in all reality, I don't need it. Kinda pricey, anyway.

Anybody else just not watch TV?

cable internet, no TV
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 6:39:23 PM EST
I don't watch much, but I have cable. Otherwise I'd only get two channels, and one of them poorly.

PLUS, I have broadband through the cable company. I'll NEVER go back to dial-up.

My wife & grandkids watch the TV.

Same here. I get the broadband through coaxial cable, via the local cable company.

We have the box and get great reception, but no cable channels aside from C-Span. I'd kind of like to have the 24 hour news channels, but internet's good enough for that. I can get the good video clips from The Political Teen blog.

Link Posted: 4/14/2006 7:35:09 PM EST
No TV for me either. I gave it up 6 years ago and haven't looked back. It's just useless mind garbage anyway. If I want to watch something I will either rent a DVD or pick one of mine from collection.
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 7:40:02 PM EST
You're not missing anything, save your money.

I hate TV, but get overruled by the wife LOL. I won't even be in the same room as some of the dumb shit she watches.
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 7:43:54 PM EST

Same here.

I don't even own a TV.
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 7:55:06 PM EST
It's interesting what you think of it after taking a long break from watching it. I pretty much hate most of what's on now. The tv in my bedroom hasn't been plugged in for months. I do watch Leno/Conan but that's it. I'm also busy online or playing guitar while it's on as well.

The shows are crap. The news is crap drama queen propaganda. I don't need it.
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 8:02:32 PM EST
nope, I don't have satellite either, and my tv only catches three stations, two are mexican stations and the other is PBS,

good thing about it all is, my spanish is getting better, downside is, that I think I'm turning liberal.
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 8:03:49 PM EST
I have had cable since 82
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 8:13:00 PM EST
How do you watch 24 without cable
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 8:13:19 PM EST
I don't even have a TV. Cable internet, though.

no, it sucks.

I bet you think that the 5 or 6 stargate spinoffs actually have good acting

I would be without cable if I could actually pick up a reception in the valley I live in. We just have most basic cable package they offer(everything you get off the air + like 2 or 3 other channels).

no cable, or satellite.

pbs rocks!
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 8:38:19 PM EST
Probably not. I ditched Cable TV when I moved.
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 8:38:38 PM EST
I moved out of town and left the dish at the old house.
My new place had an ancient antenne on it, so I thought,"what the heck" and put a new feed and a signal booster on it.
I now get 7 standard def. digital channels and 5 high def channels.
That gets me by for the 8-10 hours of tv I watch a week.

total cost to me, $25
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 8:51:24 PM EST
I had cable(tv) and got rid of it. I never watched it. Always too busy doing other things.

My ps2 & vcr are the only things hooked up to my tv.

Have a cable modem...so I'm online alot...fast connections are nice.
Link Posted: 4/14/2006 9:15:27 PM EST
I've got a nice HDTV, and rabbit ears. I mainly use the set for movies. I refuse to pay over $600 a year for cable to not watch what I don't watch now.
Link Posted: 4/15/2006 11:41:21 AM EST
I turned that crap off years ago .
Link Posted: 4/15/2006 1:25:01 PM EST
All those channels and still nothing on!
Link Posted: 4/15/2006 1:26:56 PM EST
Poor student. hi speed is $30 WITH student discount. if basic was $5-10 with the hispeed I'd have added it. they wanted $20-25 Fuck'em I got rabbit ears.
Link Posted: 4/15/2006 1:29:24 PM EST
No TV at all here. There is nothing worth watching besides the BBC's Top Gear, and Fox's awesome combo of 24 and Prison Break. Computer monitors have far superior resolutions anyway. My children will grow up without a TV as well.
