already leaking oil

that's what happens when you put a shit-tier IHI blower on a formidable 6.2L beast

piece of shit SC couldn't hang. maybe IHI should stick to making leaf blowers.

I know there were three companies that bid on the SC for the hellcat.  Who were the other two besides IHI.

Pretty common from what I read online. Make sure you don't have anything aftermarket on their. They tried to deny a guy because he had a K & N airfilter on his.  They finally backed down when K & N got involved.

At least he can get it back to the dealership really, really fast.  Unless it runs out of oil.

Drive it like you stole it... Thats why you buy one of those cars... One would assume if you can spend the cash to buy one, you can spend the cash to fix it.

How can it be faster when it spends most of its life on the shop because it's a Mopar product?

And sure it goes fast in a straight line, but the fat pig can't turn.

Hellcats are meant to be broken.

AMG's are meant to be handed down.

There are bone stock Mustangs that would walk a hellcat like a bitch.

Hell, the hellcat isn't even the fastest Challenger Mopar has crapped out in the last few years.

Just be sure to trade it in before the warranty expires, or it's going to turn into a very large and expensive paperweight... Or send it to the Roadkill guys for an LS swap

LOL at the IHI s/c hate.

IHI makes the S/Cs for the Verado's and they are getting 400 HP out of 2.6L turning over 7000rpm all day long under 100% load and they do just fine.

Local guy pinned his crank pulley. Blower failed at high RPM and the pinned pulley kept churning the chunks and it wasted the 6.2L long block, too. Heads beat to shit, ventilated block, trashed rotating assy...everything. Engine compartment looked like someone dropped a grenade into the valley.

Pinned crank pulley was discovered during tear down and the poor chap's powertrain warranty was rendered null and void. Last I looked, the repair estimate had moved north of $15K and rising. IIRC, just the blower is around $10K.

Hell of a mess

rebuild kit is being sent - all will be well

this is really more of an IHI fuck up than a dodge fuck up - haven't ever had an issue with the 10+ dodges i've owned
