My forward observers have informed me that my ex-girlfriend who turned out to be a psycho stalker did not come home from work on Friday and was not seen all weekend, nor was her car in front of her house this morning.  Monday is the only day of the week that she never works.  For her not to be home on a Monday morning would be highly unusual, especially if she worked Friday plus the whole weekend.

I have reason to believe that her boss had her committed to a psychiatric hospital using power granted to her under Section 5150 of the Caliban Welfare and Institutions Code.  That's the law that allows LEOs, paramedics, and doctors and certain staff members of mental health facilities to commit anyone for 72 hours of psychiatric evaluation on probable cause that the person presents a danger to self or others.

The ex-GF happens to be a Registered Nurse at a psychiatric hospital.  I called her boss Friday morning to report that psycho nurse had called FROM WORK to harass me, that she had been harassing me for three weeks straight, that she was also harassing my ex-wife, and that the LEOs had already warned her to stop or face arrest.  I made it clear to the Director of Nursing that the woman was already facing serious trouble and needed counseling badly.

To continue with the threat assessment, psycho ex-GF is a single mom.  If I'm right about the 5150 conjecture she spent Mother's Day in the loony bin without getting paid for being there, and her son may have been placed in foster care.  So there are two possible outcomes without much in between:  Either she will have learned her lesson and will steer clear of me, or she'll be even madder and crazier than ever and will have devoted all of her energy to ruining my life.

Wish me luck.  If she comes at me I'll be calling the LEOs on 911.

Damn, whats the matter with you?  Instead of calling her work why not deal with it yourself?  IE Tell her to fuck off...if that don't work then get a restraining order.  Did you not see that she was nuts before hand?  Or were her tit so big and you dick so hard that you choose to ignore the signs?

Funny thing, last time I carried a concealed weapon because I thought I was going to encounter this individual she did in fact come into a public place where I was eating dinner, for the purpose of picking a fight with me.  I calmly told her I was going to ignore anything she said and turned back to my bowl of chili.  I asked the proprietor to "86" her, which she did.  Psycho woman screamed a bunch of obscenities at everyone in the place and slammed the door as she left.

A. Yes, I've told her in writing to leave me completely alone.

B. What's the point of a restraining order?  It's probably just going to piss her off more and the end result will be the same - She ends up in jail.

C. No, I've always suspected she might be nuts but didn't know how bad it was until Easter Sunday.

D. I have to be very careful in how I deal with the situation or else [b]I[/b] could end up in jail.  It's great that my ex-wife has filed a criminal complaint against her.

I've done that already.  It didn't work.  It just feeds her pathological need for attention AND puts me at risk of arrest for harassing her.



I've talked to two cops and two lawyers about ROs.  I know the score.  It makes no difference if I get the RO now or later or never.  It's a piece of paper that is as likely to end up pinned to my chest with a knife as it is to get her to stop harassing me.  She's already facing criminal charges that will get her in front of a judge just as surely as violating an RO would.

Besides, if I get an RO she'll probably get one in retaliation.  That would be very inconvenient for someone who has a chunk of his retirement savings in the form of a GUN COLLECTION.

I wouldn't doubt if some of the "women" here are actually men...

I doubt she is in the looney bin. And I wonder what will happen when she gets the restraining order against you! Why? You called her employer and harrassed her at work! You might not feel like it, but I am sure she can convince a judge you did by telling her story her way, just like you've done here. I would heed the advice here, and jump all over it. Your refusal to get one, sounds stupid. It puts additional weight on any story you might have to tell any LEO, and gives weight to any story a judge might hear, and it makes you look like the one trying to get out of the problem the right way.

She's made about 300 harassing and threatening phone calls to me in spite of being warned by an LEO to stop.



No, she called ME [b]from[/b] work to harass me.  I called her boss to tell her there was a big problem.  I was trying to A) get her off my back and B) maybe get her into help before the LEOs drag her into jail and put her innocent kid in the Polinsky Institute.

The police have already been called about her harassment 3 times.  I could have had her arrested on 4/28 but asked the LEOs to let her off with a verbal warning.  If she calls me again I _will_ call the police.  I'm trying to avoid LEO involvement if possible.

I still don't understand the feeling of being so hopeless you have to call their employer.

Calling her employer WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE EXECUTIVE NURSING DIRECTOR AT A PSYCH HOSPITAL was a punt, a last hope of getting her into psychiatric help before a judge orders her there and messes up her kid's life more than it has to be messed up.

And I've already done at least 50 things about it.  I don't want her thrown in jail if it can be avoided.

Actually who can and who cannot place a patient on a hold varies from county to county in California.  LEO's and psych doctors can write them through the state. L.A. County will not allow ER or other doctors to write 5150's only allowing psych doctors to do so.  Some counties will allow members of mobile crisis teams to do so.

The story given is kind of vague. She could have just taken off somewhere. I guess if she pops up tomorrow sometime at your doorstep with a wild look on her face I will admit you were right.  Glad I am married.  Good luck.

In San Diego County an RN at a psych hospital can do a 5150.

I was right.

I have confirmation that PsychoNurse was indeed 5150'd on Friday.  The fact that she'd threatened two people was probable cause.  It appears the police have interacted with her boss.

She got out midday today and called a mutual friend.

Indications are that she has come to her senses and now regrets her actions.  She's embarrassed.

I have to assume that this turnaround could be a ruse to get at me again.  Must avoid her permanently.

If she starts hassling me again THAT will be time for an RO in my opinion.

Thanks to my supporters, and 50 lashes with a wet noodle to my naysayers.

Good to hear the good news.  Saw the other thread and it sounds like you are trying to do the right thing for her, but mainly for her son.  Hopefully her son won't turn out to be too screwed up.

In case you're not already doing so...

DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.   All contact from her, or attempts to do so,  all sightings, all info that you hear via the grape vine,  etc.

This could very well be important if things take a turn toward not just the worse, but the severe.

Let's face it:  You have to go so far as to plan for a worst case scenario.  If this girl's completely whacked, she might try to whack YOU, and that's a scenario you need to plan for.

You should refresh yourself on your state's rules of engagement re: use of deadly force.  If it should come to that, you want to be sure that you don't do wrong in the eyes of the law, and that includes a requirement for you to avoid the situation if possible.    

You may wish to contact a lawyer, too.  One who knows how to handle a case involving a shooting in self defense.

There's nothing particularly attractive about your current situation.   Stay alert, stay focused, and stay out of trouble.  And good luck.

We still use the 5150 designation. Also referred to as a green sheet, as in "We are gonna' hafta' green sheet this gentleman" so as to avoid aggravating said individual prior to restraint.

Edited to add that you should not wait for the next incident to get the restraining order. SHE IS UNSTABLE AND HAS PROVEN IT ON MANY PREVIOUS OCCASIONS. If you wait, it may be too late.
