Ever notice the drastic difference in goods between Saturday night and Sunday morning? I always got a kick out of that.

I waited out side once for a buddy. I leaned against the wall and fell asleep next to a dumpster. Woke up to birds singing, no buddy, so I left! That was about 0900!

Reforger 1973. Ist Infantry Division, 1st Engineer Bn. Spent the 1st two weeks in Landstuhl with dysentery (long story about a trip to Mexico). After my release I drove a jeep for the signal officer from Grafenwehr to Pirmasens (Munchweiler). No doors or side curtains on that jeep. Plenty of schnapps to keep us warm. Interesting leading convoys across mountain ranges when the downhill sections involved trying to stay in front of 5 ton bridge trucks

I'm an Air Force brat, so I've only been places dad was stationed. We were at Ramstein from 84 to 86. I loved it there, but I was only about 10 or so. The snow was fun, living on base was fun... sneaking off base to the local Swimbad was fun.

That's when dad had a '74 Porsche 911. The guy next door to us had a 911 (turbo look SC, I think, probably an 81 or 82) too. That started my interest... now I have 1.5 Porsches! A 69 911T Targa, and a 70 911T that donated it's engine and tranny to the 69.

Anyway, I'd love to go back and see all the things I got to see in Europe now that I'm all growed up. Someday...
