They're playing a story about the a family struggling with starvation. The mother is a "heavyset woman" who "used to work, but stopped" and is married to "her husband butch, who dropped out of high school" and has three kids. They are soo broke that they have to drink Ice tea instead fo coolaid*. They aren't ashamed about having to use food stamps and then get free food from foodbanks because "it isn't a downtime, it's a way of life". She went searching for deals on "meat", "suger", and "ice cream" along with "fresh fruits and vegitables from local farms".

Her eight year old son no longer gets free lunches at school because he got kicked out of public schools over "behavioral problems" and then skips lunch because he'd rather go out to play.

––––––––––––

Gah, cry me a fucking river. If you can afford to be fat drinking and are drinking iced tea instead of water, you aren't fucking starving. Maybe we should apply BMI standard to food stamps; if you're not either fit or getting lighter, you don't need to eat so damn much. If you're kids are letting food go to waste because they'd rather play than eat lunch, they aren't fucking starving either.

Oh, and if you and your husband are both high school dropouts trying to live off one income, don't have three kids. Comdoms are cheaper than kids, by far; fuck, not fucking is even free.

No wonder we're a country of fat asses. Good think Obama is taking on childhood hunger.

EDIT: And before you flame me for listening to NPR, it's the only radio station that's always playing news, and I don't like music.

A couple weeks ago I turned NPR on for the first time in a long time.  They were talking about how people in America are the least friendly and least hospitable people in the world.  How every place in the world was a better place than America.  Several of these mindless, unthinking fools were agreeing with each other about this and they were filled by joy by their conclusion.

NPR commentators are the least intelligent people on the airways and people on radio and television are at the very bottom of the intellectual barrel.

The other day they were talking about some libtard author that committed suicide. One of the callers had a rant about how the author should have killed republicans....

The issue was shown in "Idiocracy".

"Certain Groups" of people have more kids because it means they get more free stuff.

At the same time, there are a LOT of double income/no kids families around, as they want a solid foundation for a family.

Guess which one is going to be "outbreeded".

One of my friends married a girl from NYC and she's always amazed at how us hicks in flyover country go out of our way to help each other.  Need help moving?  What day?  Car broke down?  I'll be there to pick you up!  Beers need drank?  I'm on my way!
We took her shooting and she liked it so much she took the class to get her CCW.  She was floored when I loaned her my Sig P228 for the class without collateral.
As for NPR, yea, they have an agenda, but every once in a while a story surprises me, like this one that criticizes the European welfare state.

I was actually thinking about that the other day.

I'm 27 and college educated. Out of the guys I know my own age, about 2/3 of the college grads are married; none of the college grads have kids.

Out of the non-college grad friends I have, which I have absolutely nothing against either of them, both are great guys and neither is stupid. One is married with a pregnant wife and one kid already, and the other has two kids (one his, one his fiancee's that he's raising) plus his fiance is pregnant.

This American Life, Fresh Air and Cartalk are still the only programs worth listening to on any radio station. I'll listen to npr news because, of all the choices, it's the only one that isn't non-stop commercials and rehashing of whatever Lindsey Lohan is up to at the moment. The editorial bias isn't as bad as many make it out to be, and when it is present it's pretty obvious. And they even have an ombudsman to call them out on the BS.

Which is fine, until you get into the Motor Voting.  People who have no interest/care about politics are picked up and taken to vote, with the innuendo or outright statement of who to vote for.   That is where "the system" falls apart.

More precautions are taken when picking a jury over picking a president.

First, I am convinced that the names of the commentators on NPR are fake. Pam Coulter? Steve Inskeep? Audie Cornish?

Second, NPR uses tried and true emotional manipulation to achieve it's objectives. Just like a preacher might. They tell you some form of story that is emotional, in one way or another. Then follow that story quickly with an agenda driven program. It's the classic way to get people to believe something that is otherwise too far fetched. Another term: Brainwashing.

There really is something weird about NPR. The entire line of programming is skewed in some way or another.

Prairie home companion? Bizzare junk.

Diane Rehm? Showcasing the handicapped? That's just fucked up. You DON'T put verbal 'tards or stroke victims in charge of a national radio show. This is so far from the real world, it's not funny.

Then they showcase music that SUCKS. They make sure it's absolute tribal crap, some form of drunk beatnik simplistic clapping non rhythm, or watered down versions of otherwise good music. Everything on NPR is designed and engineered to be substandard in some odd way.

Don't get me started on how they promote muslims with names like mohammad atta (no not the terrorist). WHAT THE FUCK?????? Who the hell cares about tour guide mohammad atta from poc es tan?  The agenda is clear. To undermine good, decent, American values.

Whats wrong with NPR?
I listen to them all the time.  They are so helpful.  With NPR I am able to hear sad and wonderful stories on how I may be able to help.  NPR keeps me updated on when and where my union leaders are meeting so I can get updates and orders from them to help our cause.
As a child I used to watch this show on PBS, and it had a mean grumpy guy who lived in a garbage can.  We called him Oscar.  He was always reading the newspapers and talking about what was going on in the world.  Ol' Oscar the grouch... that's who you guys remind me of.
I sure am happy you people live in the middle of the country and the rest of us live where it is nice.  One day you might get smart and move to where the rest of us live, or Chicago, that place is Super!
I would love to live in Chicago with the fantastic weather, Unions, Govt. and class!
Jest.

I would like to offer NPR a bag of dicks to eat or choke on.

http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/97facts/edu2birt.htm

According to a study by National Center for Health Statistics, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "Educational attainment is a very critical factor in accounting for lifetime fertility differentials. Women with 1 or more years of college have sharply lower lifetime fertility than less educated women, regardless of race or Hispanic origin. Women with college degrees can be expected to complete their childbearing with 1.6-2.0 children each; 1.7 for non-Hispanic white, 1.6 for non-Hispanic black, and 2.0 for Hispanic women. For women with less education the total expected number of children are: 3.2 children for those with 0-8 years of education; 2.3 children for those with 9-11 years of education and 2.7 for high school graduates."

As for the blog post that claims everyone's has equal capabilities and that people of different levels of intelligence intermarry all the time but cites absolutely no sources, how many doctors and lawyers do you know who are married to high school drop outs? http://geekwhisperin.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/blogging.jpg

Except the teachers, they can pass on their crap without having their own children. Which brings you back to NPR! Only the .gov/teachers pass on higher thought. Homeschool FTW!! I can't believe they haven't come for us yet.
