I stopped to get gas at race trac about 2 hours ago. Get out of car to pump gas and hear a loud wreck at the nearby intersection. Turn to see a messed up compact car and hear police sirens already. Then 2 seconds afterwards see a white male running towards the gas station with a shotgun. It looked like a mossberg pump marine finish with the black stock. I immediately think wtf and I see the guy try to jump in the nearest truck closest to the intersection.
Realizing what was happening I opened my passenger door grabbed my G19 and turned towards the building to get away from the cars. Then I hear about 7-10 shots and then nothing but sirens. Cops coming out of nowhere, obviously were all chasing this guy. Mostly were plain clothes officers although it was a uniformed officer that shot him. Took about an hour and a half after statements were taken and we were free to go. Another witness said the guy was raising up the shotgun when the cop lit him up, by the time the shooting started I was behind the pumps trying to find cover. I saw the officer come out of the gas station who shot the perp and told him good job. He was obviously shooken up. Looks like he shot 8 times and was within 5 yards of the perp so I think he ate all 8 rounds. He was barely alive when they threw him in the ambo. I sincerely hope that asshole is dead now. Also, yes I know full well how important it is now to have my gun on my person. This happened in Lewisville, TX. Police said they were after the guy for a stolen car, but I highly doubt that. As who the fuck takes a shotgun with them to steal a car, and there were obviously non local police there including Texas Rangers. Perp was only one shot, good job to Lewisville PD.
