A SIG Mosquito .22LR and an all matching Chinese SKS.

The SKS will be sold or traded off, I'm really not that into them.

The SIG is pretty neat, and is accurate. The trigger sucks balls though.

I think I'll remove the mag safety, and see what else I can do to improve the trigger pull.

Does anyone here have experience with the SIG Mosquito?

I'm serious about wanting more info......

Are the SIGs bad, or are these just opinions?

Thanks

I've never seen one run reliably. They have all been junk. YMMV.

Thanks.

It has worked flawlessly for the 50 or so rounds I have through it thus far.

But I will definitely check it out really well and make sure it's worth keeping.

The Mosquito and the 1911's have the most problems of all Sigs per one of the customer service people I talked to .

Ever looked closely at the used section of your local gun store and counted how many Mosquito's there were for sale? I had one for about 6 months and got rid of it.  Awesome for malfunction drills.  The thing loved CCI Mini-mags and that was about it.  Would choke at least once per mag on anything else

I have seen some Mosquitoes that ran pretty well but not the kind of reliability you would expect from a Ruger Mark whatever or a buckmark .
I have also seen plenty that were problem children . Kind of a shame because they are a handy sized little unit . Small enough to carry around but still a decent sized grip and decent sights.

I was taking the Sig class up in New Hampshire on their centerfire pistols and during a break someone asked about the reliability of the Mosquitoes . The Instructor said they knew there were issues and it was looking like the chambers were on the tight side which should be good for accuracy but some of the guns were too tight . Something to do with them being built in Europe .

When I was helping out in my buddies shop we could get most of them to run if we cleaned and lightly lubed and used Mini-Mags but some of them went back to Sig , some of them several times

Well, I took out the Mosquito to see how it would perform.

I cleaned the weapon very well the night before. Ammunition was CCI Minimags.

The first magazine had 3 malfunctions. It failed to eject the casing, and had it on the breech face while trying to load the next cartridge.

The next 14 magazines had 0 malfunctions. Odd that after it got a little dirt and such built up that it worked right.........

It was accurate despite the heavy trigger,

So..............I'm not so sure the pistol is a keeper.

If I keep it I will disconnect the mag safety and see what can be done with the trigger, I just don't know if it's worth the effort.
