The Brazos river bottom that is.
I packed my Baby Eagle, & my Colt AR-15 in my Jimmy last night when I was headed for work. I went from work this morning at 7:00 am & headed for the river bottom on my way home. It was a balmy 32 degrees out, & it almost reminded me of summer time shooting in WI.
I shot 50 rounds of wolf .45, & guess what? It does have a strange stench to it. Then I shot 30 rounds of Black Hills through my AR just for fun. I shot beer cans, & other like items that were left there by others.
What really thrills me is the spot I was at, is just about 8 minuets from my house, & that's the 1st time since I moved here I shot so close to home, & nobody got their undies in a bunch over it.
I hope ya'll have a fun day, & get to drop some rounds down range as well.

Getting your undies in a bunch is much better than getting a bunch in your undies! Sounds like fun. I used to be able to shoot all day just down the road from my place. Now there are houses there [:(] But wait, my boss lives in that new housing developement. Maybe I should....oh, nevermind. [:d]

Damn, scared me for a minute. There is a place down the road in the woods called 'the bottom' where all the whinos & crak heads congregate around the fire barrel. Thought maybe someone cleaned the place up.........

This morning, when I went shooting, I noticed all the roofs had frost on them! I saw a guy out jogging, & I thought now there is a hardy soul. Then my memory jogged back to my Wisconsin days, & the times I would go for a run when it was -20 to -30 below. I would get home with large clumps of ice from my breath frozen to my eye lashes. Unable to open or close my eyes all the way till it melted off! I don't see any cars on the ice in any of the pictures, or any houses, what's up with that?

Yeah I remember running in those temps too. Lungs were aching with the bitter cold. The lake we hold our annual get together on, is a small lake in the Northern Kettle Moraine State Park. It is a non motorized lake. No gas motor on the boats, no snowmobiles, no ATVs and no cars. We have to carry everything down the hill by hand. And it ain't no little hill either. There are a few more pictures here. There are houses in the background in some of them. http://www.bytehead.com/~dmprdan/quasi/quasi_images.htm
