hungover.
no stretching or hydrating or carb loading.

'Snail's pace, but constant 11 minute miles with no breaks or walking.

2 hours 25 minutes. 13.1 miles around MErcer Island, WA (hilly course)

I am sore already.  My biceps are sore, WTF?
My legs will be fried tomorrow.

Stretch out.  If you have access to a sauna use it.  Also eat some protein and jog a few miles to work out the soreness.

Good job.

11 minute miles over a half marathon is no snail's pace. Good job!

How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

Good on ya! The longest runs I make are 6 miles in length, and those are far between. Running is my least favorite activity. So I try to do it at least once a day.

Thats awesome.  Just dont get hurt.  Not training for stuff like that will get you hurt everytime.  Stress fractures and muscle injuries.

You need to hydrate yourself.  A LOT. Keep drinking.  You are probably severely dehydrated if you were hungover.  Get some of those sport drinks and keep drinking.

Some Motrin around the clock for the next couple of days will do wonders for pain and recovery.  Rest as well but you want to keep moving.

29 years old.

I'm supposed to do a half-ironman triathlon at the end of july. 1.5mile swim, 56mile bike, 13.1 mile run.

I was supposed to start serious training a while back but never did.  This race was coming up, and I though it would help "force" me into running if I had to pay to enter, etc.

I know you're not supposed to run a lot of miles at the beginning of your training, but I thought to myself, "Nuts to that."

I am hurting!

the only time I will run that far is if I run out of ammo and the zombies are chasing me

LOL.  You probably just wasted another 1-2 weeks of training time with that stunt.

Well, it was valuable in that it showed me that I can take the punishment...

so I go that goin' for me.

I did something akin to that, showing myself I can take the punishment. Now I have plantar fasciitis and can hardly run at all compared to where I used to be. Bad move.

have you ever done anything approaching a 1.5 mi swim before?

you might want to start working on that

I did one of those a couple of years ago and made the mistake of wearing crapping shoes.  My feet paid the price for the next week, I could barely walk.

Enjoy tomorrow!

Heh, I used to be into long distance running.  On the cross country team through highschool and then worked on marathons in college.  My knees and ankles finally gave out on me during my last marathon and now I can barely do 3 miles without some sort of knee or ankle pain.  It's definitely going to catch up with me when I get old.

way to go. like somebody else said, you may want to go on
a little run to loosen up.
keep running, it is a great excercise. remember to stretch
and hydrate.

That was a dumb move.  Your gonna be too sore and tired to train for next week.  I've run two marathons and I used to train religiously, but during my training I never ran more than eight miles in a single workout.  Try interval training and save the big push for the race itself.

Good job man
I was training for a 1/2 Marathon and messed my knee up back in January. No I am stuck with 5k distances....age is finally catching up with me

Glad to hear someone is still in shape to run distance.
After 2 1/2 months of doctors, mri's, and now PT...I can barely run 5 miles.....getting older sucks

Good job!

I've never ran anymore than 6 miles at one time. I've gotta try running more sometime.
