He basically said that "it was a horrible act of cowardice..." and that he is apalled that "the parents couldn't teach the kid right from wrong." Went on to talk about morals and that all parents should teach and raise their kids to not do stuff like this. Now, what would Clinton or Al Gwhore have said???

{putting up Klintong's semiweary phonespeech accent}. We need to take further measures to take these assault weapon away from our children, our children need to feel safe in school. And if that means trampling over a major amendment in the consitution of this nation then so be it, suits me just fine {puking and turning of accent} Thank God he's no longer in office, but since this happened in the great state of California expect gov. Davis to propose more legislature. Remember Davis is a Clinton clone. Kuiper

Dianne Feinstein was already on the news propegating her personal anti-gun owner agenda at the expense of the families involved with the tragedy. She truly knows no shame.

Agreed, Stubbs. Finally, a politician that doens't IMMEDIATELY blame the inanimate object for the acts of a coward. I was a shy nerd in school. I wore Salvation Army clothes. I was considered a backward geek boy (Of course, now I'm a swingin' hip stud muffin [:D] ) but I never shot up a school. Granted its never right to pick on a child (as is alleged in the case of this perp) but we apparently live in a society where the appropriate response to being called a nerd is to shoot your teachers and classmates to death. Warning to ALL board members: "Offensive" religious content follows Our shcools are God- free zones where He and His mandates for behaviour are scoffed at and disregarded as Puritanical. In their place, evolution has taught children that there is NO God, that they are not responsible to Him for their actions, or the way their actions affect the lives of others. Evloutions teaches it OK to breed like rabbits and to kill off the inconvenient offspring. Well apparently, this shooter found someone elses offspring to be "inconvenient" to him, and he killed them off. My only beef with Dubya is that he ants to flood MORE $$$$ into this hell-hole school system. God help us all.

Well stated Garandman. I agree.

GARANDMAN: I believe the GWB wants to give to the parents the option of sending their children to the schools of their choice through the voucher system. As a fellow follower of Christ, he knows that a Godless school system promotes Godless people and wants to try and give the individual a choice in who is instrumental in the teaching of our children. He is realistic enough to know that not all children will be able to select their school, due to economic factors beyond his control, so he is trying to raise the quality of education in all the schools.

My problem with vouchers is that once the gov't gets their $$$ into these schools....look out. I'm giving Dubya the benefit of the doubt right now. I believe him to be a good man, with good motives and intentions. that's all I have a right to expect from anyone, until his actions dictate otherwise. Good things Dubya has done - 1. Took a CLEAR pro-life, pro-man&woman marriage stand. No matter where you stand on these isues, you've got to commend the courageous non-political approach Shrub took in stating his position. Poeple then know EXACTLY where he stands, and can vote accordingly. 2. DID NOT fold to the Leftist pressure during the death penalty executions in his home state of Texas. 3. And as Stubbs pointed out, took a clear position as to teh cause of this most recent school shooting. 4. Made clear references to his faith, and did it knowing he would take heat for it. He did it knowing he would NOT get the religious badge of honor treatment that LIE-berman got. These are the courageous acts of a man of principle. while I may disagree in approach on some issues, at least I know I'm not dealing with a snake-in-the-grass like Clinton.

For Immediate Release: 3/5/01 STATEMENT BY SARAH BRADY ON THE SANTANAHIGH SCHOOL SHOOTINGS "I am disappointed by President Bush's statement on this shooting this afternoon. Yes, it is important to teach our children morals and values, but the most immediate way to make sure these shootings don't happen in the first place is to prevent children from having access to guns. I challenge President Bush to support the following: · Mandatory safety training for gun owners so that they learn the importance of storing their weapons out of the reach of children and learn how to store weapons properly; · Child access prevention laws, which hold gun owners responsible when a child gains access to their unsecured gun; · Closing loopholes in our laws, such as the gun show loophole, that enable juveniles and criminals to buy guns; · Child safety locks for every gun; · Safety standards for child safety locks -- and for guns. Guns remain specifically exempt from any federal safety regulations. Just last month, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that most gun locks are easily defeated.

I hate to suggest that parents delegate any part of their responsibility to teach their children values to the school system, but maybe it's time to push for mandatory gun safety/awareness classes. Eddie-Eagle or the like for little grade school tikes, and at least a one-day firearms safety/awareness class for all junior high students. I still remember the look on the kids' faces in my hunter safety class when the instructor demonstrated the effect of a 12 Ga shotgun blast on a plastic gallon milk container full of red Kool Aid; none of those kids had any illusions of video-game-like resurrection for anyone shot by such a weapon. Finally, I'm convinced these school shooting won't stop until we repeal the federal law making schools Gun Free (read "unarmed victims") Zones; the gun-grabbers have those school kids' blood on their hands and someone in the Congress should have the balls to drive this point home, again and again, to the American sheeple.

garandman: Could not have said it better myself brother. My wife and I agreed that all these goings on (school shootings, daycare masacres, church killings) are either a part of this nations most dastardly, dispicable and murderous conspiracy ever aimed at destroying a God ordained right or it is the work of satan as he and his minions run rampant through our increasingly Godless society. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......thats the same thing ain't it? I hate to say it but there will be more. Just stay tuned.

Didn't the supreme court strike that down? I know its legal in my state for a CCW licensee to carry in a school.

I was once picked on in school by a certain crowd of students, Funny thing though, one of the creeps went to far one day and I ended up slamming his head into a gym locker. Took 17 stiches to close the gash in his head. no one ever picked on me again! It was worth the 2 weeks I was in the detention center at school!

I love Dubya's response too! Finally we have a President who focuses on the issue at hand with common sense. It's the person not the gun. Bll Clinton was nothing more than a puppett for his elite friends in the gun ban lobby

My rebute to her: 1. Oh, does that mean you will suport tax payer funded classes on how to use, handle a firearm in public schools? And provide money so that instructors can go to privte schools to teach it? (School system is the only mass education system in place that one can get to kids). Might fail like the topic of sexual education in school...... 2 Ah, so it'll be like the truency laws. Kid skips school x times, parent goes to jail. Too much gray area in this. What if you have no kids and none come to your home? Does it mean you an lock it up. What ever happened to "quick access for if TSHTF!!!!" 3 If kids buy drugs on the street, they can get guns. Gun show loophole as she calls it...HAAA. They'll just get it from their dealers.....(not to say that kids use drugs) 4 Humm, most manufactures put a lock w/ the gun (ie cable or triger). Or they have built in locks. People just don't use them....since they want "quic access for it TSHTF!!!!" 5 Safety standards for locks.....what next, ball point pens, pencils???? Look what federal standards did to clean air (some helped, some didn't)...... End of *itcing.......

So you complain about liberals blaming guns for these acts, then turn around and lay the blame on people who don't believe in God. "If only we could make everyone give up their guns, tragedies like this wouldn't happen!" doesn't sound very different from "If only we could make everyone believe in God, tragedies like this wouldn't happen!" BTW, women have been having abortions for thousands of years, long before evolution theory was worked out.

Another school shooting. Time to dust off the Gun Cam, one gun owner's effort to watch his firearm for any inherent signs of violence 24 hours a day: 209.25.215.117/gun/guns_watch.html

First of all, there is a huge difference in blaming an inanimate object for causing murders, as the Liberals do, and in blaming an ideology that removes mans responsibility to a Supreme Being for causing murders, as I have. Every act, be it kind or murderous, comes out of a persons ideology, whether he be disposed to do good or evil. Therefore, ideology IS a causitive factor when we look at people actions. The godless, evolutionary ideology removes a PRIMARY BARRIER to doing evil, the aspect of ultimate accoutability. Your comparison of my claims to Liberals claims is about as accurate as a Bill Clinton golf score. I said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about "mak[ing] everyone believe in God." That is a shameful and libelous distortion of my post. I merely pointed out what happens to a society that chooses to eliminate God from their public consciousness. Make your own decision about whether you want to believe in God, but then don't b!tch about the consequences if you chooe not to(i.e. school shootings) re: women having abortions BEFORE evolutionary theory was worked out OF COURSE people have always wanted to escape responsibility for their actions. I never said evolution theory was causitive when it came to abortion, merely that it gave a convenient excuse to those seeking abortions when their consciences began to bother them. It would be interesting to study the correlation between the frequency of abortion, and the widespread belief in evolutionary theory. You may just find causation there. Look, dude, if your gonna put words in my mouth, AND disregard what I actually said, then you ain't worth the time or bandwidth. If you want to have an intellectually honest exchange of ideas, I'll be waiting to hear from you.

"· Child access prevention laws, which hold gun owners responsible when a child gains access to their unsecured gun; · Child safety locks for every gun;" If they're so concerned how about they get gun owners nice, sturdy, test worthy safes at a LOW price?????

imposter: I thought the Court only struck down the "within 1000 yards of a school" law, but I could be misinformed.
Link Posted: 3/6/2001 2:03:31 PM EDT
Yes the supreme court did strike down the first 1000 yard from a school ban, but then it was passed again in a modified form by the socialists and will probably be struck down again if it ever is taken to court. I challenge sarah brady to: 1) Without any escort, wheel jimmy into south central l.a. and make face to face demands to the crips and bloods that they immediately turn in their illegal guns. 2) Take a jimmy for a long walk on a short pier, then take a flying leap.

garandman, agree with ya except one very fine point: believing in the theory of evolution does not mean that one cannot have a belief in the Almighty. I believe that evolution is a viable theory and I still have my strong relationship with God. I don't want to turn this into a religions argument. If you'd like to discuss this, let's do it via email. This thread is not the place...I'm sure not everyone wants to read it.

Garandman, I have to respectfully disagree. I don't believe in God. I suppose that I'd like to, but I simply can't. I am working on an advanced degree in natural science and I have a research position with a federal agency. I still consider myself a moral, upstanding citizen and I believe in the vast majoriety of moral values expressed in christianity and other religions. However, modern evolutionary therory, genetics, and statistics explains vastly more about human, animal, and plant behavior than any religion every has, IMHO. I think the decline of religion in this country and across the globe has come about because more and more people accept this. And I don't see this trend reversing. So, how do I propose to prevent horrors like this? Well, I don't think you can. You can minimize the likelyhood of its occurance through responsible parenting, NRA gun safely programs in schools, teaching children love, respect, personal responsibility, etc (All of which liberals seem opposed to), but I don't think you can eliminate the possibility of this sort of thing happening again without trampling people's liberties to death. But, of course, no politician will ever say that. But I do think GWB handled this better than Klinton ever would have. And as for DiFi and S. Brady, well, all I can say is that vultures will always be drawn to death in hopes of benifiting from it. Respectfully, BigShooter.

God bless George W. Bush ! by the way does this sound familliar ? news flash! A low cost, assault, baby killing, rocket launching, anti aircraft, anti environment, poluting, HIV/AIDS, Pro life, religious zealot, pro censorship, evil corporation, homophobic, racist, machinegun broke free of it's gunsafe. Ripped off its trigger lock and took over the mind of an upper middle class drug addicted, sexualy abused 20 year old child forcing him to go to a daycare center and let the evil gun run free spewing millions of baby killing rounds. Three were injured, the evil gun was aprehended by brave SWAT officers and will be destroyed along with any other weapons that look like this one. The poor defensless 20 year old child was helped by social workers to a nearby government shelter and will be receiving coombiya therapy. You can't carry firearms concealed within 1000 yards of a school unless you are on your own private property......I'm not sure if its federal law,,,,but that is what is being taught in the NRA basic pistol/personal protection class that is offered locally and taught by local law enforcement. I live right across the street from a middle-school and down the block from an elementary school and confirmed with local law enforcement, as long as you are on private property your firearms are fine and dandy.
