I don't get how these companies can send multiple advertising emails every freakin' day...and not figure they're gonna piss people off.

After the 3rd Midway email today...I've had enough. Unsubscribe me.

You don't subscribe to PSA do you?

Midway is one of the worst offenders.

Eastwood and eBay are pretty bad too.

Guitar Center sends a never ending stream of spam.

Not the same, most of us buy stuff twice a day from PSA.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:38:21 PM EST
I had to unsubscribe from PSA's 4 daily emails...it was costing me too much money.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:38:59 PM EST
Use rules in outlook to send vendor advertising to it's own folder so when you are shopping you can have access to their emails without being bothered constantly.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:39:09 PM EST
... I hear you, every fucking for-profit company does this - NEVER give up your email address, unless you're OK with their spam
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:40:15 PM EST
I don't even open them after price checking their "discounts" and find out it's still more expensive than other online vendors.

Jacking the original price up 30% and then offering 15% off is some real Cabelas shit.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:43:04 PM EST
Brownells is heading down that path. Starting a few months ago I get 2 or 3 a day.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:43:55 PM EST
PSA's are at least interesting.

Midway is like "woo wooo wew we go magpul CTR for 59.99, come and get em!!!!!"
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:44:12 PM EST
I had to do that a month ago. Not just Midway, but everything. I was getting 15 emails a day about ammo sales. FFS, once a week is alright. Three times a day is not.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:45:21 PM EST
I did that months ago.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 4:51:35 PM EST
I dropped them about a 1/2 a year ago, freakin drove me nuts. PSA is almost as bad. A weekly email like Aim is quite sufficient.

Just 15? Lol

Try on 30-35 daily for gun, accessories and ammo.

They are just following the NRA's lead.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 5:06:07 PM EST
Ebay is probably the worst for me right now. I get the midway ones too but ebay goes above and beyond.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 5:07:57 PM EST
I purged a ton of venders from my email. Now I rarely get anything that I don't want. Makes email a much more pleasant tool.

I used to like SGAmmo but since they won't sell to me anymore because of SAFE, it's gotten kind of annoying. Probably should cancel them sometime.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 5:09:58 PM EST
I did also today. It's been bad the past couple days
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 5:11:46 PM EST
Why don't you just delete them?  I got a ton of offer emails from various places I've bought from before.  It's just a swipe and delete on the ole phone or click and delete on the computer.  Sometimes they are interesting so I don't mind them.

That's my read on it. A couple outfits send me emails every day and I get a kick out of seeing them, but 2 or 3 or 4 a day is just fucked up.

Guess they've never heard the old saying, 'don't push your luck'.

most email programs allow automatic placement of emails directly in your trash folder.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 5:17:43 PM EST
Midway, PSA, Natchez, they all do it. I hate the emails companies send just because they tracked you looking at an item on their site. I looked at a surefire light on Primary Arms site the other day and they have sent me like 4 emails since then just about that light.

I've tried to get all my sports related emails steered toward an old Hotmail acct. The problem is, I don't always check it daily, and sometimes I miss out on legit. deals. A dedicated email acct. is the way to go though.

Yep, I unsubscribed from Midway some time ago.
For the exact same reason

This is why I have two different email accounts.
One for family and business, the other to get spammed with sales.
Link Posted: 8/19/2017 5:54:18 PM EST
I just unsubscribe immediately when I get the first marketing email. I've bought a lot of crap and in total I get maybe 8 emails a day.

I love Primary Arms, but the "Looks like you forgot this" emails after I put something in the cart to be able to see the price gets pretty old.

BFD.

You haven't got a big buck email until you've had an email from Arms Unlimited.

Especially when you know it sold out in the meantime.

Agreed. I dumped midway about a year ago and wrote them an email explaining that I will no longer shop there because of their annoying emails... not to mention jacked prices.

Right now my worst offender is Amazon. I'm getting 2-3 emails a day telling me to buy shit that my wife looked at while she's at work.

Just don't give your email to Dick's, J&R Cigars, or Bon Appetit' if you don't what spam.

I lead a dull life, so deleting emails might be considered a 'high point'.

They finally took me off their email list. They were a pain in the ass with their email spam.

Every time I get ready to unsubscribe from CDNN they have something I really want on sale.
