Picked up 1,600 rounds tonight.  First walmart had NONE,  second only had one box, and the 3rd time was a charm.  They had a bottle of CLP and 1,500 rounds left for me.  I also got about 500 rounds of .177 for my new RWS 34, it's a sweet little pellet gun.

You sir, are my hero

I plan to do that soon to a couple of local Wally Worlds.

If they would have had 30 boxes I still would have bought them all.  I originally just wanted 5 WWB's  but after going all over town to 3 different ones I just decided to clean them out.  I imagine what I got should last 2-3 months.

I try to buy from my local gun stores instead of Wally world.

Walmart aint going out of business any time soon... your local store is.

See what kind of deal your local guy can get a case for.  You may be surprised.

Local stores (at least here) need to get a grip. $19.88= 100rds of WWB 45acp @ WW. $17.00= 50rds of FAE @ the other local shop. I'm not even going to get into the mailorder places.

and FWIW, I work at a shop 3 days a month. We carry only odd type ammo that WW doesn't or we only make a $1 a box on the regular stuff.

I saw a WWB 100 round of the standard 115 grain at the range I shoot at and they wanted $21 bucks,.. compared to the $11 and change I get it at Wal-Mart.  I think a lot of the dealers rely on ignorant people to purchase ammo and a majority of the guns they sell.... I saw a yugo that was in terrible condition for $175, whereas I can get an unissued with my C&R for less than $150.

ive bought my local walmart out a few times, each time 1,000rounds.  but they have finnally caught onto me, they stock 2-3000 now.  i also think im the only one purchasing ammo there.  i go in about once a week and the number of 9mm boxes never seems to change.  unless i buy some.  when it gets down to about 500 they get another 2 or 3 cases in

Last weekdend I went to Walmart and I asked the guy what the price was on the 100 round boxes of WWB 9mm. He said $11.

Then I asked him how much for the 40 round boxes of WWB 5.56. He said $4.50 .

Then he asks me if I want one of the WWB 9mm boxes. I tell him that I want 10. He looks at me kind of funny and says, "they only come in 100 round boxes, you can't just buy 10 rounds out of the box."

I tell him, no, I want 10 of the 100 round boxes. His eyes get kind of wide and he looks at some other old guy that he was chatting with when I came up and he says, "That's a thousand rounds!"

So, then I tell him that I want all the WWB 5.56 he has. He looks at me like and starts piling the ammo up on the counter. When he's done loading it up I see one lonely 1000 round box of .22lr, so I tell him I'll take that too.

Then I paid in cash.

I hate the look on MY face when they say, "we don't have ANY of it." Both the ones in my area must be running their own AWB (Anti White Box) in .223. There hasn't been any in three weeks since I bought 3 boxes.

They don't have any Mountain House in their camping section like some have noted in their posts. In short the Wal Marts here truly suck.

Prices on the 100 "value packs" are often realll close to the case price.  Without buying a case.

I love it when you buy .22lr and they ask you if it for a handgun or a rifle. Now that I've said rifle, does that mean I have to buy a different box for my pistols?

Well since the only other place in town that sells ammo is Big 5 and their prices aren't near as good.  Oh and the range, about a 50% mark-up over WW.  The WallyWorld stocks lots and lots of pistol ammo thanks to the dumb guy pricing at the range.

That and they still have all the boxes of WSM and WSSM they got when it was introduced, haven't sold a box yet.

I honestly hate giving wal mart my business, but the 223 40 round boxes are too hard to pass up. At least it's made in Israel and not China. I pay the extra money for AE 9mm at the small shops because I just prefer it over WWB. It's not much, anyway. I have to say, the look on the clerk's face when you say: "All of it." is worth the price of admission.

Yesterday I told the first clerk I wanted 15 boxes of WWB 9mm.  She starts to pull it off the shelf but then yells to another  clerk "do we have any cases in the back?" Second clerk says yes and returns with 2 cases. I told her I would take both cases. She then looks at me and says hey, you haven't had me order you any cases in awhile.  I guess I am the only guy in town that orders 5 cases WWB 9mm thru Wally World.  The five case order  was when I had two 9mm ARs.  Now we have three 9mm ARs , two H&K 94s, and two BW 89s.  Its nice to order a few cases and not pay shipping.

Would it not be cheaper to mail order it? Sales tax compared to shipping?

Is there any 9mm out there that's all that much better of a deal then the WWB at Walmart? I guess I also like the anonymity of paying cash in person too, if I can...

If the gun stores are going out of business (around here anyway), they ought to think about dropping their prices about 50%, then maybe they'll give Wally-World a run for their money, but until then, I don't feel sorry for them.  I don't buy guns or ammo from the places around here, they're way too expensive when I can go to Wal-Mart and Gunbroker.
