I just decided that I don't want to go to work anymore. I think that the government should send me money on a regular basis so that I no longer have spend my days couped up in an office building.

Or you could be forced to work in a substandard factory and only have 2 fingers. Neither of which are close to the other.

No, that won't do at all. I just like the part about monitary handouts for doing nothing. It really sounds pretty good to me.

I basically get that at my job. LOL!!!

I'd get bored, shit would get blown up and burned just because I didn't have something to keep me out of trouble.

My friend and I talked about this weekend before last. We were wondering what percentage of the productive side of society would have to drop out and go on the doll to break their back and have them knock it off with the handouts.

Hell, the members of productive society wouldn't even necessarily have to themselves go on the dole. They'd just have to stop producing, and the whole fucking works would crumble.

BTW, you need to go read Atlas Shrugged, since we're basically talking about its major plot line.

Yeah, I've had the same conversation a few times. Hell, if we all just ent on strike where would the money come from for the losers anyhow?
Well, I gues they would just borrow it from the Chicoms like everything else.

The only thing that will ever save this country is eliminating this shit. Since that is most unlikely I have planned for other scenarios.

Don't ya wish it was that easy? The problem is, first you'd have to learn to hate yourself - no person with an ounce of self-respect could live that life.

Let me think about it for a moment.
Free housing
Free medical
Free daycare
Free clothing allowance
Free fuel(heating)
Did I miss anything
Time to spend at the range everyday. My only question is can I buy ammo with food stamps?

Whenever I take a day off, and don't pursue one of my hobbies, I'm amazed at the sheer number of people who are out and about, and don't work. Most are legit... The retired, the housewives, the people who work alternate schedules... However, a significant percentage are just skating along, ignorant of how much work and commitment it takes to make a buck. Thest are the types that totally believe that their lack of significant employment is due to the system keeping them down intentionally...

Just off the top o' my head. Could anyone here list a country that you consider "socialist" Where the people have a worse standard of living and are on the verge of collapse? No you cant list Communist countries like N korea!

Read Atlas Shrugged.

The accuracy of that book concerning certain economically suicidal policies continues to disturb me.

Cuba, maybe without propping up by cheap oil from Venezuela.

But there's quite a variety of economic systems out there. Even Cuba has some capitalism, most socialist countries have some, which makes the word quasi-socialist.

Read Atlas Shrugged.

What is the (quick and dirty) story line there. It's a might fat book and I han't had the time to read it. If it was assigned in high school, I skipped that semester.....

I think it's always better to be productive than non-productive.***

Ain't AS one of them "utopian" novels? Sorta like sci-fi? No basis in reality?

As far as I "know", Ayn ain't got no real basis in reality.

Let's do an experiment.... Atlas Shrugged in say..... Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, New York, California, , Virginia, Michigan, Iowa, Missouri.....

***see above.

RSVP...I'd really like to know.

To be a socialist all you have to be willing to do is give up all your guns, most of your freedom, and be ready to pay 90% tax on what ever work you will be assigned to.

FWIW, I don't base my world view on any Big Fat Books that other "people" write.

And that goes for Sartre, Descartes, Einstein, Schopenhauer, Nietzche, MatthewMarkLukeJohn, etfuckincetera.

Atlas Shrugged is just another long diatribe from someone who thinks they have all the answers.

If ANYONE had the answers, WE would have been on the same page 5000 years ago.

Gotta plan?

Sweden. Collapsing due to the influx of RoPers, and the state's blatant cultural ignorance. Economically, Sweden ranks about even with Mississippi. And the standard of livng isn't "poor", but is definitely below average.
