Had the nightmare again.  I had to engage a threat, and my Glock didn't work.

Then I magically grabbed another 9mm from out of nowhere, and dumped three mags to center-mass and CNS.

No effect.

Just pissed him off more.

You bastards with your Glock malfunctions and 9mm vs. .45ACP threads are undermining my subconscious confidence in my G19!!!

Sounds like you need a 1911.

For the record I carry a Glock 36

My G19 still has my confidence.

You need more training.

The dreams are a result of your own insecurities about not being prepared.

Train, shoot more, and the dreams will go away.

I don't think so...  In the dream I had multiple magazine changes, and each of them went flawlessly.  Lightning quick, behind cover...  It's not a training issue.

Instead, I think it's because I had a previous issue with the G19.  I swapped out the 5.5lbs connector for a competition 3.5lbs one.  Something was wrong with it - I guess it was bent - because when I would pull the trigger, instead of the connector forcing the trigger bar down (removing the drop safety, firing the weapon), it would push the connector out of the way and the trigger bar would just go straight back.

After that happened at the range, I dropped the 5.5lbs connector back in and haven't had a problem with it since.

I know my gun works, and I know it will function on every trigger squeeze, but I think that's every gun owner's worst nightmare.  Squeezing the trigger to defend yourself, and it goes *click!* instead of *BANG!*

While dreaming, never one time have any of my shots had any serious effect on an opponent.  Usually more along the lines of just annonying 'em into leaving me alone.

Then there was the one where I had wedged 7.62NATO ammo into an AK mag and was pissed off 'cuz it wouldn't feed in my AR

Go to bed with a 4 inch diameter 4 foot long mailing tube next to you.

In your dream, use the bazooka.

this is probably one of the most common dreams gun owners have...

i had it quite a bit when i first started carrying every day...

draw my gun and the trigger pull is EXTREMELY heavy, doesn't fire, or the bullets hit their target and do nothing...

my wife has had the same type of dream, as has my best friend who is an NRA instructor...

freud would say its because you have a small penis, i say it's a manifestation of your subconscious fear that SOMETHING may go wrong when you NEED it the most...

how you react in your dream is the important part... your brain computed the most logical response, gun didn't work, grabbed your backup, shot until you were out, threat persisted, run away...

Same here! My guns always have the same effect as an airsoft when used on bad guys.

The Doctor is........IN

Subconsciously you acknowledge the innate intricacies of the semi automatic handgun and the critical nature of feeding and chambering ammo.

Whether you realize it or not, you are yearning for the reliability of a revolver.

5 cents, please.

it works for me.

I also have dreams where I hit someone or kick them and it doesnt effect them at all. I go up to the dojo and kick the snot out of the bag for a bit and they go away.

Your dream isn't about guns dude, don't be so literal.

I'd hazard a guess that you're feeling like something else you're doing isn't working, or isn't performing the way you want.

Don´t sleep with a loaded gun near you!!

Or at least with an empty chamber!!!

Be careful!

Don´t worry about what Freud would say, worry about a family menber full of bullet holes!
