I was researching recently whether the astronauts on Challenger were conscious after the explosion and during their 2 minute descent into the ocean.  Some evidence indicates they were, such as three of the members of the crew activated their air canisters.  But anything beyond that is speculation.

Last night I dreamt I was watching a video taken inside the Challenger during the explosion.  There wa a guy sitting there, not even strapped in, just sitting in a hammock type thing.  All of the sudden the thing lurched and he flew and hit the wall with his head going about 100 mph, then bounced around the walls flopping around unconscious for about 10 seconds then it ended.

The thing is, it was SO REAL!!!  After I woke up it was later that day I thought about it then realized it was just a dream.

Challenger left me emotionally fucked up for a few weeks after, but didn't have dreams about it.

Columbia on the other hand...

Being a pilot and a "space nut" I had a LOT of VERY vivid dreams and daydreams for a couple of weeks after.  I must have ridden that left seat a few dozen times through entry to break-up. <SHUDDER>
