nice, but I don't really like the drag set-up, I'm more of a corner carver.

They are trying to get the factory backed superstock drag teams back up like they were in the 60's. (cant tub super stock cars. rules prohibit it)

Personally I wouldnt touch the new Challenger until you get Daimler out of Chrysler completely. After owning a DCX vehicle, I'd rather buy a Yugo than buy another DCX one. Mercedes isnt the same quality it once meant decades ago. Not gonna even go into the garbage from Porsche and Audi (I hated working on german vehicles. Changing the tires was a PITA with those damn lug bolts instead of nuts).

But JFP, ya aint kidding about corner carvin. Its a hell of alot more fun than driving a straight line for 1280feet or driving in a perpetual left turn for 500 miles. Would be cool to see SCCA Trans Am make a comeback with the new Camaro, Mustangs and Challenger like it was in the 1970.

No mirrors to see what you left behind you

I'd think one would know when the tranny falls out of the car.

That Mopar is way more retro pure than the 05 + Stangs.
I love it and a I am not a Chrysler guy by any means.

They look pretty good in pics by themselves, but the problem is it's a big ass car.  In pics next to other pony/muscle cars these new Challengers are massive looking, nearly ruins it IMO.  Beyond looks they weigh 4100+ pounds (at least the concept and other LX platform cars), which is going to mean the ~400ish hp Challengers are going to get dropkicked by any of the higher output Stangs and new Camaros when they hit the street.

I'd love to see a real Challenger (or better, a Plymouth Barracuda/'Cuda) on the roads new again.

It should have a range of options so it's affordable to a 19 year old working in a trade.  It should have engine options independent of packages.  If the (doctor, lawyer, ad exec) wants a 6-cyl cruisermobile with all the options, he should be able to buy it.  If the 19 year old wants a car with no options except for the Hemi, he should be able to buy it.

Knowing Chrysler, they'll produce it...but with 4 doors, multiple cupholders, a child seat, and if you want the Hemi you'll have to pay for the top of the line options package.  Which will only be available with a slushbox.
