Sorry guys but I just had to tell someone who would understand just what a great deal I made.

Quick background....a co-worker had a dad who was a NJ State Trooper. His dad passed away I guess almost 20 years ago now. Anyway, he found out I was into guns and told me about this weird type of gun his dad has just gotten from the department before he passed away. He said you had to squueze the grip in order for the gun to fire  This guy has a P7M8!!

So right away I ask if he wants to sell it....he says he has his dad's .38 and that was the gun his dad used for most of his life, so that he would never sell, but the HK, yea..he says he might. That was 2 years ago    I've been asking every month or so for the last two years

Finally last week we are talking while passing in the hall and he tells me he wants to get a PC for the house, but money is tight. Well, I just happen to have a friend who owns a PC business...bla bla bla...and a trade is made.

Lookie what I got

Congrats!!!!!! now you get to say "squeeze cock "over and over .  That in itself is more then enough reason to get a P7M8.

The computer I got him runs 1300.00 (P4 3gig/160gig hard drive/512 megs/DVD/CDburner bla bla bla....plus it comes with a 17" flat panel monitor and I also threw him 200 cash)

I got the PC for doing about 750.00 worth of work for the PC store. So I think he made out just as good as I did. I paid 950 out of pocket, he walks away with a brand new, still sealed in the "factory box" system worth 1300. I walk away with a NJ Trooper HK P7M8 that looks BRAND NEW

This gun just feels so right in my hand. It points as well as my 1911. I can't wait to get her to the range and see the accuracy this is capable of. From what I hear they are extremely accurate guns.

Getting an actual issue NJSP P7M8 in excellent condition is a real coup.

I was in NJ when they started carrying those pistols, and at the time I had no idea what they were. But I have had a hard-on for them ever since.

They are neat guns.

Just keep it clean.

He, a guy in my gun club sold his P7M8 for about 500$, and he had trouble selling it. Is it something special about the NJ Trooper version?

Sir, FWIW I acquired one of those from essentially the same source about ten years ago.  It's my carry gun, and I like it very much.  Good catch, 7zero1 out.

My co-worker still had the receipt for the gun. His dad kept it. He paid 350. for it back then.

To the guy who had trouble selling it for 500???  They usually go for around 1,000 now.

I'm not sure about there being anything special about the NJ Trooper guns, other than the history. Perhaps someone else can help out there?

They are great pistols, I first learned about them when I read a report on NJ State Trooper testing of several pistols in the mid '80's. They were looking for a replacement of thier issue sidearm and I was very impressed with the report at the time.

I got mine in '85 or '86, a P7M13, I never understood why NJ went with the M8 because IIRC the premise of the testing was to give the Troopers a level playing field because thier wheel guns lacked the capacity of the semi autos they were up against. There was a tragic NJ trooper shooting that led up to this, the trooper was outgunned during a gunfight due to lack of capacity.

I wish I still had the report, it covered all of this in good detail.

Good deal, I use my P7 for CCW.

I would have loved to only pay $500 for a P7.

VERY nice - I've wanted to get one for some time - wish I could contact the guy selling his for $500.

I have an HK P9S pistol in 9mm and one in .45 - they are AWESOME pistols.  Perfect for suppressing, too.  I also have two extra barrels, the 9mm is threaded and the .45 is the 8" "hunter" barrel that I may eventually cut down and thread for a suppressor.

The fixed barrel in the P9S and P7 are what makes them so accurate.  The SEALS used the .45 P9S for a while as their wetwork gun.

Now, you realize that you can never trade it.  Like some sage said on ARFcom a long time ago...
“Trading away a P7 in order to make a good deal, is like competing in the Special Olympics ; Even if you win... You’re still retarded!!!”    I’ve had mine since ‘85.   Enjoy & Stay Safe
