Well, Mac, it could be John Kerry we are going to be listening to instead. Wouldn't that be grand......
"Did I tell you all that I was wounded in Vietnam?" |
That's very true. But I'll still be yelling at the TV. |
If you think about it, we had a choice between:
George "Blind-Eye" Bush or John "We should be Europe" Kerry. Sigh... Well, at least we can hope this topic hits a fevered pitch by 2008. |
I dread the coming State Of The Union address
Um...don't watch it? |
Well if it's something you dread and keeps you from screaming and yelling at inanimate objects, not watching it will at least keep your heart and blood pressure happy. |

Bush usually does well when he reads from the script.
His impromptu speaking causes my butt cheeks to clench. |
What if he announces a repeal of the 86 ban and the 89 ban? It could happen!
I wil every time I see Kennedy shaking his head and flapping his jowls.
Your user name is strangely appropriate to this situation... |
He is not the best President...
But, the alternative was much, much scarier. |
And they will be bringing drugs, weapons, explosives, CHILD sex slaves and more diseases |

And I *could* shit a flying pig. But the probability of it happening is so close to zero you'd need a couple of miles of paper to print all the 0s after the decimal point. |

Think positive my man. Remeber how well our troops are doing in Iraq and A-Stan. Remeber that there hasn't been a major terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11. Remember that the Democratic party is all but toothless now, about all they can do is jingle the change in their pockets, rock on their heels while clucking their tongues, and ask each other in whiny voices about what is to be done with this GW Bush. This country is still advancing forward even in the face of mounting adversity. The people have chosen wisely given their options for President, the sky is still blue, and dohnuts are still plentiful.
Then again, maybe your current frustration is what gives you your edge in developing witty and insightful political commentary. Keep 'em coming, and remember, it's not the T.V's fault. T.V is our friend. |
President GW Bush just isn't good at reading speeches. He should keep it simple and tell people how things really are and how he really feels.
"You Democraps are dead in the water. We've got terrorists on the run. Anyone who gets in the USA's way is going to get run over. BTW, no more corporate taxes so all companies and the money behind them can move their operations to the USA. Thank you and God bless America." |
thats why most people in this country have a little thing called cable.we dont have to watch if we dont want to.
if i looked at the tv thing right you wrong 3 hours it will be on certain channels.you got to remember the president speaks the n the democratic asshats have to say he is wrong then the republicans have their say. i know i will be watching 1 of the following hbo, showtime, max, starz,or a ppv movie. |
Correct me if I'm wrong Macallan, but aren't you one who has ardently defended Bush from people on this board (myself included) who are pissed about his refusal to veto pork spending and unwillingness to secure the border with Mexico?
I'm not being sarcastic, I'm just confused. |
I supported him on only three main issues: 1) Court nominees, 2) War, 3) Tax cuts/economy. I worked hard for him to be re-elected and was REAL glad he won. But I'm still pissed as hell at the spending and lack of border security. |

Here is my humble prediction:
1: America is safer without Saddam Hussain in power. 2: America is safer without Saddam Hussain in power. 3: The domestic spying program is for the good of the American people 4: Pause for joke...................... 5: America is safer without Saddam Hussain in power. 6: Applause drink of water......... Need I finish |
Heh, +1 |
I agree.
ESPECIALLY after you hear how WELL his brother JEB speaks! We elected the wrong Bush! |
Don't worry, he will probably run soon |
Is there really somebody who can please everyone about everything? Likely not.
If there is....maybe he should run for president...or anti-christ. |
President GW Bush's speeches are better if you read them. They'll be posting the transcript here afterwards. www.whitehouse.gov/stateoftheunion/2006/index.html
Well I guess now he's gonna have to make a big deal about MLK's wife tonight too. There goes another half billion targetted just for blacks in the name of "equality". |
Dick Cheney shoulda been Prez.... You know deep inside you feel it..... |
Yeah I know that the whole time I will be thinking "Damn he is making government bigger" Aside from National Security issues I have grown very tired of GWB. He is a good guy and all but he has too much compassion with my money. He also needs to do something fast about the boarder the stuff that is going on is bullshit.

So just because Kerry would have been worse we are supposed to praise GW and say he is doing a great job? What a bunch of crap. Bush has turned into a weak pathetic President, I think I saw him on 24 last night! OK, he's not that bad but compared to his first couple years Bush has become pathetic and no amount of sugar coating it will change that. Since getting re-elected Bush hasn't done much of anything meanwhile gas/oil prices jumped up, the border still isn't secure, Iraq still isn't under control, N. Korea and Iran are thumbing their noses at us, his tax cut plan flopped, his social security reform flopped...ect. About the only thing Bush has pushed for is renewing and expanding the Patriot Act. I just wish the "cowboy" Bush would get back up on his horse and get things done for a change. Bush started going down hill when he got off his high horse and appologized for his aggressive ways and said he would be kinder and gentler when it came to dealing with others. I don't care how bad Kerry would have been...it still doesn't take away from how bad Bush is doing right now.

Just keep a supply of foam bricks by the recliner. FOAM bricks! |
I'm willing to grade students on a curve, but not presidents... |
Dubya seems pretty contented. |
Interesting note: Federal grant-in-aid programs GREW under Bush II and now comprise over 18% of the federal budget, as high as they were in the pre-Reagan era. (During Reagan they were only about 11 or 12 percent...) |
You said it. I got nothing to add. |
If we're lucky Teddy will give the rebuttal. Then ABC would pick him up as it's latest goofball comedy. |
I wish we had a time machine and could elect Barry Goldwater in 2000.
If 5,000 illegals crossed the border every hour, as you seem to be indicating (since the speech is only an hour long), that would be 43,800,000 illegals entering the US each year (365 days X 24 Hours X 5,000). If they were all coming from Mexico, the entire Mexican population of 103,000,000 would take less than 2.5 years to enter the US. WOW, I never realized it was that bad... |
It's about 5-10,000 per day. I was referring to TODAY, not just the hour of his speech. |
Getting my calculator set to track the cost in millions of dollars in giveaways per minute of his speech as well as the number of illegals who cross the border the amount of time it takes for him to finish. |
I'll be watching Flight 93 at 2200 AETV, "Let's Roll".
I'm not much for watching speeches. |
I could do it if you can get me several million to run for president. I could guarantee that after implementing my plans for supreme happiness, the people who were left would not feel a need to reelect me for a second term. |
I'd bet Bush is going to say something stupid.
I think he does much better when he and everyone he talks to is on a script (Even though it is blatantly obvious). |
Whatever... Coretta Scott King has contributed more to society than you and was a greater American than your ass could ever hope to be. I'd have a few more words I'd like to tell you but, I can't go around telling people the truth... After all, I might bruise someone's ego, hurt someone's feelings, or maybe even change the way they think... We can't have any of that around here... |
Lighten up, Francis. |
Bet you axe da brothas in'hood who Coretta Scott King id and dey be sayin' she be Rodney King's mama. Oh-yeah. Hook, line and sinker - damn you were too easy. Oh and what Selsius said. |
I haven't been able to watch a state of the union address since Reagan....
Now THAT is something that I'd want to see on TV! As for the State of the Union address, I have not intentions of watching. Bush spend an hour telling us how good things are going, and then the Demonrats will take a few minutes to tell us that everything is going to collapse within the next few days. No one will be saying anything of substance, unless Bush announces half way through the speech that bombs just started falling on Iran. |
Compared to some of the stuff I've seen Mac post, you can never tell... |
