One of my best friends, a black guy, gave a donation to the naacp back in about 1990 when some of them cane to our college campus. To him, they talked a good talk, so he donated, nothing was said that was out of the way to the students back then. When we got to his house before getting ready to go uptown and wither pick up chicks or find a race, he informed his parents. His father lit in on him big time, and explained to him that they were a hindrance, and were irrelevant and nothing but race baiters , and that he hadn't supported them since the 70s. He told my friend to just stick to getting his education, and work hard to get ahead and not worry about anybody holding him back, that he had the same chance as everyone else to make it. His generation fought for equality and won it, and now it was my friends generation to fight to keep it by living an honorable life. The naacp wasn't there to help, but to make money off of the backs of those that were too dumb to get it, or too lazy to work. ANd one other thing, he told him, forget that African - American shit, America comes first, and he was born here, and don't need to know shit about Africa.
