http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_American_War

The Treaty of Cahuenga, signed on January 13, 1847, ended the fighting in California. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, signed on February 2, 1848, ended the war and gave the USA undisputed control of Texas as well as California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming. In return, Mexico received $18,250,000 total for the cost of the war.

This entry shows that the Mexican govt. voluntarily gave up the land we now have AND they were paid. So what are these Asstlan morons bitching and whining about? Either way we conquered and developed it far better than they would have.

Facts are usually inconvenient to those with an agenda.

Not defending the Asstlans, but if someone kicks your ass and makes you sell off your property to prevent a further beating, then to some extent you're always going to feel robbed even if you were compensated with money.

Then again they signed on the dotted line.  It's over now.  Stop living in the past.

That'd be $361,727,542.48 in 2005 dollars. That's 361.7 BILLION dollars.

Good luck getting them to understand the whole "you SOLD it to us" thing.

It's like trying to show the hypocracy of them wanting English speakers to go back to England, but never think about sending the Spanish speakers back to Spain.

It's called logic, and they don't really get it. They want to remain ignorant and yell and scream filth and cause general havoc. Just wait for it, I see LA getting out of hand real soon.... again.

ETA: I bet suggesting to them "my family had a house in 1850, but sold it and moved on, but I'm still entitled to it 150 years later" wouldn't make sense, but this sure does.
