CA sucks with its 10day waiting period, so I am suppose to pickup my new springfield milspec stainless today at 4:54 PM (yeah they have it down to the minute) and this has been the longest week not to mention day i can ever remember, on the positive note I am getting alot done at work, seems like I have all the time in the world...

No wait here.

Better to wait and receive than never to receive at all.

Becuase of my common name I always get delayed when they call in my info.

It's usually a 10-30 minute wait.

Dealers in Californistan are all over the map in how they interpret the 10-day wait.

I've had various ones tell me at one time or another:

- 10 calendar days up to the minute, like 1911greg's experience,
- Any time on the 10th day is OK, regardless of what time you bought the weapon,
- Must wait until the 11th day,
- 10 BUSINESS days, so if the store is closed on Sunday you have to add two...

I got the type 03 FFL last year. Now I just buy C&Rs and have them shipped right to my house. Best $30 I ever invested, next to getting Eternal Salvation from The Church of the SubGenius

7 day wait here in MD on handguns and "assult rifles"
Link Posted: 2/7/2006 10:25:37 AM EDT
Just to further annoy you, if you have your CHL in many states you don't even have to wait while they call the feds. They'll give you the gun as fast as you fill out paperwork and pay them.

And here in TX we don't have a limit on how many handguns per month we can buy. We also don't have to only buy guns that are deemed safe by the state.

Nope, I don't miss california.

No wait in Arizona and no background phone call if you've got a CCW permit. Walk in, fill out the papers, pay your money and walk out with whatever you want. But the above poster is right, a C&R permit is the best $30 a gun enthusiast can spend.
