I won a trip through 3M. For those of you who dont know, 3M makes all kinds of products we use in the body shop, masking tape, masking paper, and so on. So I entered the contest back in late spring, early summer. They called me a week and half ago and told me i won. The only catch is that I had to let them know immediately if I could go and will be flying out this coming Wednesday , the 28th. The contest is sponsored through NASCAR. So heres the deal : its me and my boss and my local jobber salesman and his boss. All four of us get to bring one guest each, for a total of eight people. 3M is paying for all airfare and four rooms at Planet Hollywood. We get tickets to all the NASCAR Champion Week events, including the awards ceremony on Friday night. We fly back home on Saturday afternoon.
With this trip being so soon, I dont have a lot of spending money saved. I had forgotten all about entering the contest to begin with. So where will I find the best deal on meals, beer, and so forth ? Im taking my buddy so we should be able to find a good time wherever.

the thing with vegas is that you can spend whatever you like.  Eat on the strip is more expensive than eating a couple of miles away. One of the things to grab at the airport is the booklets that have speacial and coupon in it.

Hit up the Nevada HTF. Don't miss Texas de Brazil at Town Square shopping center. Sunset/las vegas blvd (just south of where you are staying). For scenery go to Valley of Fire and Red Rock, lots of movies and commercials shot out there and really close.

The women who look like business women are hookers and the women who look like hookers are not hookers.

$20 in the video poker machine at the bar gets you free drinks.  Play slow; $.25 a spin every once in a while, and pound some beers or mixed drinks.  Don't forget to tip the bartender.

ETA; your purpose here isn't to win money it's to drink. Winning a couple bucks is nice though. you can cash out when you're full of drinks or want to change the scenery

I get a $250 gift card also, I think its coming in the mail , it better hurry up. If this is a Visa gift card then it will be used for meals. Otherwise , I will have about $400 in cash to spend plus my Chase card if absolutely necessary. Im not a gambler so dont have to worry about that. As far as the hookers go, I may pay for sex in my marriage but I will be damned if I pay for it while in Vegas.

Be prepared to get solicited for strip clubs by illegal immigrants clicking business cards standing in huge long lines on the strips. Me and my friends used to collect as many as we could lol.

Don't gamble!

If you have to gamble then do it on the machines that are embedded in the counter tops at the bar. I've had the most luck their. Last time I was in vegas I won 175.00 on one of those and the time before that I won 95.00. If you are using those drinks are free.

Fat Tuesdays on the miracle mile has a huge drinks that last you for hours that costs 4-5 bucks.

Hit all the free shit, you will be drunk anyway so everything will be cool.

Don't get so drunk that you can't remember what color you picked in roulette and then argue with the dealer, if you do they kick you out of the casino ask me how I know.

$100 per day is doable for food. Nice buffet is about 30-40 for dinner. Grab lunch and breakfast at a fast food joint.  Go to a bar off the strip for drinks and it will be half what you would pay.

Go the M for the buffet. its the best all around value in a buffet.

the only varible i see is that you are going with others, and sometimes they are willing to spend more than you would like.  Its always best to play with people in your own budget range

Play slots as well. Forget all the "tips" on how to play. It's all chance.
Once you "hit/win" walk away. weather you get ahead by $20 or $20,000
drinking more will make you say "Fuck it"  The ONLY way to beat the casino is...

self control and walk away when you end up with more than what you spent

yeah, we will probably have a dinner all together once I guess. But, my boss will probably pay. Other than that, my buddy and I will most likely avoid the others like the plague. The others are taking their wives. LOL !!!!!!
