I will not vote for Rudy. Period. He is equally as bad as clinton imo.

Rudy will not be as bad as Hilary. Hilary with a democrat controlled congress would do unspeakable harm to the republic. If Rudy gets in what will probably happen is gridlock.

Rudy sucks, however he is no where near as bad as any of the other democratic candidates.

me neither, I'll leave the choice for president blank if Rudy gets the nomination

Welcome to the club. I think most of ARFCOM is well aware of Rudi being a socialist hack.

I'll take 5 minutes of Rudy over 4+ years of Hillary.

Do some of you folks realize what is important is that we control the legislative branch?

With Giuliani this will be easier to accomplish. Go ahead and leave it blank, then blame yourself when Hillary wins.

I openly agree that Giuliani is a piece of shit, and I hope he croaks but I won't participate in Hillary's victory.

Rudy isn't dumb. He knows that if elected he had better not do anything to piss off us gun owners or we will set at home in '12

Guns are not on the radar. Nationalizing 1/4 of an industry in the US is as well as tinkering around with tax and trade policies. Add in the fairness doctrine and education and you have a host of issues where just about all of the Republicans are better than the dems.

Actually, with Ron Paul's anti-invasion/war position, I'm certain he will draw MILLIONS of votes from the libtard base.

In the primaries - I will not vote for Rudy, however, should he become the republican choice, I will seek out Ron Paul, and if he's not on the ticket, then I guess I will need to suck-it-up and vote for the anti-freedom/anti-gun/anti-rights Rudy over the Hillary-beast.

Don't do that, vote for the Libertarian or Constitutional party. If everyone just didn't vote in the stats it will look like Hillary had a more clear win. send the message of what you want.

And yes, if the Republican Part puts up Rudy we will get Hillary but it's not the one issue [gun rights] that will do it, it's the one issue [abortion] people. The Christian Conservatives are going to abandon the republican party big time.

Agree 100%

Rudy is definitely better than Hillary. Even though I think he's a piece of crap.

He did go talk to the NRA, given his shitty record....so just maybe he's trying to turn over a new leaf to win. You won't find Hillary doing anything of the sort.

I somehow doubt if he got in as President, that he would send gun owners down the river. Like that would be on his to do list if he got into the White House? I doubt it.

As someone else said, I will not be part of a Hillary victory.

3rd party vote = vote for Hillary

I don't think people really understand how bad Hillary would be. Does having to choose the lesser of two evils suck? Yep. It beats the alternative though.

The GOP could nominate a Chimp in an orange beret and I'd vote for the primate over Hillary.
Link Posted: 10/9/2007 6:35:14 PM EST
I don't like him that much either, but what did voting for a third party during the Clinton years get us, the fucking Clintons. You guys better be ready for more years of an older, more cuntish Clinton.

Plus, Rudy will be easier for the NRA to pressure, especially if he wants a second term. If Hillary gets in then we might as well shut down the NRA 'cause no one will be listening.

I don't like the sumbitch but Hunter doesn't have a chance, Fred is sinking in the polls and Rudy seems to be setting himself apart from the pack. President Hillary Clinton is more terrifying to me than President Rudy Guilliani.

Unless he allows this Global Warming shit to go through in which case even with enormous tax cuts, we'd be lucky to break even with our current tax rate.

Anybody heard his stance on GW or the "tax per mile" type shit?

BTW I heard on the radio today "If you like Bush, you'll love Rudy!"

I think the rural States will Vote for Rudy when it comes down to it....because I know they will not vote for Hillary and will do anything for her not to get in. They won't be staying home on election day.

The other interesting thing about Rudy is that NY really likes him. And a Dem President hopeful always takes NY. If Rudy was the Republican nominee, I wouldn't be shocked if he was able to win NY. If anything, it would be damn close I think.

I'll say one thing about Hillary. She's about the last best chance to re-unite the republican party.

I will stay home if Rudy is the R. Plain and simple. I just can't and won't vote for him.

I've always been the kind that said, "he's better than.........", but this time I just can't do it. No way, no how. This will be my 6th presidential election, and I hope I won't have to stay home, but I will if I have to......and so will many, many others like me.

It may be wrong, but it will happen.
Link Posted: 10/9/2007 7:09:05 PM EST
Wasn't the Republican takeover in `94 the result of Perot taking away conservative votes and Clinton getting elected?

I thought that the GOP got a wake-up call from the election and the base was energized, resulting in the Contract With America?

If so, then one would have to weigh the damage of a Hillary presidency vs. the GOP getting some balls and returning to their conservative roots.

I was once staunchly against voting for a lukewarm candidate; about an hour ago.

But, the thought of Hillary in office with a democratically controlled house and senate is truly frightening.

I know we would lose rights, freedom, and the SHTF would be imminent.

But if we elect Rudy, then we will still lose rights and freedoms; just less.

The courageous and patriotic thing to do would be to vote for a true conservative, no matter their chances of winning. However, it would ensure a Hillary win...

Voting for Rudy simply re-enforces and ensures the continuing moderation of the GOP; which is also bad for America...

No easy answers for courageous and patriotic Americans these days...

I hate to say it, but if we are going to be flushed down the toilet, I want to know that I didn't vote for it. I would also rather it happen less gradually, hopefully to incite some civil unrest.

You put it well. I don't vote for commies, I don't vote for facists, and I won't vote for Guliani. No matter how you justify it, to me it just seems wrong.

Oh I didn't say that he's a hero, but I don't think some of you realize just how much worse Hillary could be than Rudy...or basically having a Democrat President.

The Dems control the Houses, combined with a Dem President.

I'm sorry, that's fucking scary as shit. Rudy vs. Hillary? If I have to pick one, Rudy all day long.

Not voting 3rd party, that is a vote for Hillary.

Normally, Mac, you say almost exactly what I'm thinking on issues, but not on this one.

To me there is/was a big difference between GW and Rudy. Not a good analogy.

I don't vote for socialists, no matter what letter they put behind their name.
Link Posted: 10/10/2007 4:54:51 AM EST
Nobody here would bat an eye if Rudy was running as a Democrat. He's big govt, big control, anti gun, pro abortion. Yet somehow he's our hope because he has an R after his name instead of a D?

I predict Rudy as president with a democrat-controlled Congress will be just as bad as Hillary as president. The man is a control freak.

The real tug of war isn't between R and D, it's between big govt power and individual liberty. Rudy and Hillary are two turds from the same animal -- only after Rudy gets elected, the Republicans will still keep trying to polish him.
Link Posted: 10/10/2007 5:05:03 AM EST
I would vote for McCain over Hillary. He would be good on foreign policy, and nothing else. But he would be 100x better than Hillary. Not voting for the Republican over Hillary is suicide.

I guess the cold reality just hasnt "sunk in" that I might have to choose between an ultra socialist, and a moderate socialist. Great choices. Hopefully, if Rudy does get into the oval office, the Republicans in Washington can keep his ass on a short leash.

I have changed from my original position, and decided I wont vote third party on this election. I have a feeling it'll be too close to chance it.
Link Posted: 10/10/2007 5:13:59 AM EST
I used to say the same thing, but I've thought about it further. When it comes right down to it, Hillary really is the absolute worst thing that could happen to our country. Mind you, Rudy makes me sick to my stomach, but the thought of Hillary as President makes me ponder a few acts best left unsaid on a public forum.

I don't think some of you guys truly appreciate just how dangerous she is.

I've vote for pretty much any Republican, except maybe Ron Paul, over Hillary. Those of you who wouldn't, well, Hillary Clinton will thank you for your support when she is sworn in as President in '08.

Rudy has problems on quite a few issues. But he's way better then any Dem, IMHO. Most important is Foreign Policy, because Congress has a much greater say in anything Domestic. Rudy could at least be trusted to handle the Middle East properly. He also might be okay on taxes and energy. I don't expect him to be much of a friend to gun owners, but hopefully he would at least not push any new gun control.

Link Posted: 10/10/2007 5:29:18 AM EST
If the USSC rules in the Heller case that the Second Amendment protects an individual right then there's not a lot that either Rudy or Hillary could do to attack our RKBA.

Having said that, I don't see Rudy winning the Republican nomination anyway since he doesn't have the support of either the social conservatives or the gun owners, both of whom are more likely to vote in the primaries than the moderates.

A non-vote is a vote for the Beast.

I don't really have anything constructive to say here other than the fact that I'd like to express my hate for all of you whe chose to vote 3rd party (during the real election) or who refuse to vote for Rudy.

I really do hate you all, because it is YOU that will contribute in no small part to the downfall of this country.

I think what you fail to realize is that it's not just one person that you are voting into office...

The President gets to select an ASSLOAD of cabinet members and department heads that will mirror their views. So you are in effect replacing the entire top half of our government with liberals. Not to mention supreme court justices.

Hold your nose and vote for Rudy if he gets the nomination. It's not him that makes the difference, it's the people he choses to run things for him.
