I was just testing my internet connections at the PC Pitstop, and it informed me I have no ping! No ping, imagine that! How do I get my ping back, allowing that I ever had one to begin with? Where is ComputerGuy, when you really need him? [:D] Help me find my ping! Eric The([):)]MuchGrassAmigos!)Hun[>]:)]

Are you running any type of "firewall" hardware or software? Such as BlackIce or a linksys router?

LOL no ping? Are you running some type of firewall? What prolly happened, is while testing your connection, they pinged you first. If you are using a firewall, they won't be able to ping you. Quite simple really. Nothing to worry about. If you want the test to run, take down your firewall for a minute. EDIT: Post # .308 sweetness. whoopty freaking do.

Re-verify our range to target. One ping, and one ping only.

You have a wooden NIC's (no, not that kind of NICS) card in your computer. Replace it with an aluminum one and all should be well.

It don't mean a thing, if you ain't got no ping! I'm still busily trying to figure out this ping business. NAM and PC Pitstop told me to disable my firewall for the test. I disabled ZoneArlarm, but I'm not certain if there is another firewall up and running - how to check to see if there is, or not? Eric The(IToldYouIWasSlow!)Hun[>]:)]

71DL, I'm using Windows xp Home version as my OS, and as for a 'router', I have no clue! I mean, none, whatsoever! (I did mention I was slow, didn't I?) Eric The(Clueless)Hun[>]:)]

I'm at my notebook running 98se, and I have XPpro (on a different machine elsewhere), and it has a built in firewall, not sure if 'home' version does or not. goto [start] [help] and type in [firewall] and see if you get any help. Also try the dos thing like A&8's said.

Have you tried Viagra™?

hmmm when I ping this website I get between 25% and 50% loss. Never a perfect ping. Usually it works fine. DU - pinged fine, and so did every other IP address I could think of. Kinda odd, just thought I'd share.

Let me know when you get it back. I'm gonna make a movie, "How Eric Got His Ping Back".
