On page 2 of that document, it states:

"The Founding Fathers believed that the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness was very important. This right is the basis for all of the rights listed in the Constitution and its amendments.
These include:

right to freedom of religion;

right to freedom of speech;

right to bear arms, or to own weapons (a special permit is required);

right to a trial when accused of a crime, and to know of what crime one is accused; and,

right to own property and to expect the government to help protect private property.
These are rights guaranteed by the Constitution to both citizens and non-citizens who live in the United States."

Funny, my copy has no mention of this. This is the worst of the lot. You know how govt. "protects" YOUR land? Regulation. What does "own" mean, if not "control". Do you REALLY "own" your land?? Or is the govt. just allowing you to "rent" (property taxes), it?? Try not paying your "rent", or doing something govt. thinks is not "protecting" (like not getting a building "permit"), the land, and see what happens....

you've got to quit thinking of our modern-day government as if it's always been that way.

when our FF did their chit chatting regarding rights and governmental powers, one of the things that concerned them was the right to private property.  originally, it was the intent of the government to protect that right.

socialism has a way of changing original intents.
