Wife has a 1999/2000 Aptiva, and I can't take the case off.  There's a  hand/finger latch on the bottom of the front which is pressed to release a lock.  What to do after this?  I tried sliding it every which way, but it won't budge.


Got it, there's a lock latch in the back that had to be shifted, then the hand latch worked.

IIRC the front bezel has to come off first....there are several latches all the way around the front of the box.

I think I used a flat blade screwdriver to depress several of them.
