I am interested in buying a silencer for my AR-15, and maybe making it a SBR too..   I have no NFA experience, so any advice I can get will be helpful.
I know my local LEO will not sign off on it, so I was wondering how I would go about setting up a trust in order to do the things I want to do.

Would I need to have the things I want lined up prior to the trust, or do I get approved and then go buy the parts I want?
If I set it all up for a can on my AR, would I have to leave it on the AR or could I move it around gun to gun?
Would I have to carry around some sort of permit with the gun to show that it is legal?

Another question to toss into this mix..  If I set up this trust, make a SBR and put a can on it, would I be the only one able to carry it, or would it be legal for my wife to carry it as well?
Example, if my wife decides to go to the range while I'm not around, would she be legal to do this?

Any other info you may have would be great.

Thanks.

And also, can I put other things "in" my trust? Like other firearms?

This. I was gonna say something smartass about seeking an attorney, but this works.

I work as a courier/runner for a law firm that handles trust, estate, probate, etc. type stuff.  I'm in county and state buildings quite often, and I have seen several people try and give documents to the clerk that they attempted to complete themselves.  Most of them are rejected because the weren't formatted properly or are missing key information.  Unless you completely understand the process from the guides you really should contact an attorney, especially when you have to deal with the ATF.
