If you look hard he pushes the slide forward

Never mind I mis read your post. He must not be locking it so it will recoil back

I mean on the first shot. Is the slide not completely locked forward so that the recoil ejects the first shot? Or is he holding the slide release down as he fires?

ETA: Something new to figure out on the next range trip.

I don't know, but one of these times he's gonna blow his left hand off.

Yeah right. Looks damn close to the muzzle on those second shots.

I have a Winchester 1300 and a field load shell will push the slide back some when fired. With a slug or buckshot, it will nearly eject the shell if the slide is not held. The gun will not fire if the slide is not all the way forward, with the lugs locked in. I don't know if this is unique to my weapon or not.

Any pump shotgun will do that if you let it recoil. The forend automatically unlocks when you fire, how else would you be able to pump it? The release is simply for when you don't want to pull the trigger.

I have an M500 with 18.5" barrel and a Knoxx stock

If fired one handed the slide comes to the rear and ejects the shell on it's on
