I straight up had a crappy day at work today. The job that we went to didn't work out right and we had to do tons of in field fabrication. Spent all day there when it should have taken 2-3 hours. Ontop of that my dad calls me up and borrowed one of my cars and the transmission went out and hes 50 miles from home I'm just damned glad to have a 4 day weekend

My truck driver didn't show up, so the 1st shift foreman stayed over and ran the crane, while I drove the truck. We got our stuff done in just over 2.5 hours, after which we cleaned up awhile, and then I let the guys go home early.

We had a smart card failure in the SBC owned equipment.  Took them 4 hours to get their asses out here to fix it.

We were getting about 10 minutes of phone time when the phones were up.  Customers were wondering WTF?!?!

+1 to Logix Communications for staying on SBCs back to get them out here to fix defective equipment.

Boss just told me today that my "takehome" vehicle is getting yanked, higher-ups to blame.  (I am sure gas prices spurred this)  Anyway it will cost them more for me to go to the office, then drive back out to the areas I work, but whatever, it looks better to have all the vehicles parked at the office.

Fun day.

I am running a structural test program for a prototype aircraft component.  The technicians working with me are good workers and very experienced.

Weird.  Everyone at the company that shares the floor I work on with my company got notice today.

It seems my company has bought their company, which used to own my company.

Showed up at 9, slacked for an hour, went to a meeting *yawn*, did about 5 minutes worth of work, slacked until 11:15, went to Hooters with 20 co-workers for an hour and a half (had 2 Shiner Bocks), back to "work", slacked until 3 then they broke out the margarita machine. Had 3 margaritas and a cigar, turned my laptop and cell phone in and went home.

Edit: Not bad for a last day, eh?
