Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - How to remove rock wool insulation

I want to remove the rock wool insulation and blow in fiberglass on my second floor. I want it there so I can zone my first and second floor as well as to deaden sound.


How do I pick this crap up? I'd rather not shovel it as it make me itch like crazy.


Do they make a reverse insulation sucker upper rather than blowing?

Yes, it can done. The people that do insulation have equipment for this. I had it done several years ago .

IIRC some of the installation machines can be reversed to do just that, but not sure if the ones us non-professional types are able to rent can.
