You can always take the train, but I wouldn't recomend it. The last time I was there I flew into Laguardia, took a cab to mid town, drove a rental car from there to queens, decided to leave the day I got there, and took the rental car back to JFK, then found out my ticket was for LGA.
It was late and the cab drivers were being themselves (trying to extort huge amounts from a white guy with a southern accent). I took the train with all of my shit. not fun, but cheap and I know the train system up there, so it was uneventful. Another observation, people in the NYC area seem to be a lot friendlier these days, even the cab driver who drove me to mid town was incredibly nice and accomodating. |

there is a bus shuttle...that I remember goes through little jamiaca on the way......

The airports are only 11 miles apart. The Van Wyck Expressway (which is a misleading name for the road) is pretty much a straight shot between them. LaGuardia handles more domestic flights and is closer to Manhattan. JFK is more international flights, bigger airplanes and is in Queens. More domestic airports will go into LGA than JFK. |

Yup. There's a bus that connects the two or you can catch a cab. GET A FIXED RATE BEFORE YOU GET INTO THE CAB. NEGOTIATE THAT RATE AS WELL!!!!! Shit, if I knew earlier, I would have driven you for nothing more than a tank of gas to get out and get you to and from. (Coming from way out east.) |
