Birchwood Casey Perma-Blue to work?! I stoned the back of the thumb safety on my Ultra Carry II to keep it from gouging the frame. I polished it to a relatively smooth finish and applied some PermaBlue. I let it sit for 30 seconds and rinsed it off per instructions and then put on 4 more applications. It's still bare metal! It's not taking any color at all. This part is parkerized so it shouldn't be stainless.

I should have bought the touch up pen instead. I know the pen works.

If I'm not mistaken, that part is aluminum. Perma Blue does not work on aluminum. It won't have the desired chemical reaction.
