Grits are good with butter, salt, and pepper, or with butter and a little sugar.  Just depends on what you're in the mood for.

My Dad is from WV, and the first time he saw grits he loaded them up with sugar thinking it was Cream of Wheat.



He became educated, though, and quit that nonsense.
