How often do you shoot?

Just want to find out how often people here get to shoot and how many rounds do they usually shoot per trip to the range.

As for me, I haven't shot in 20 years but I just joined a club and went shooting this past Friday. What a blast! I fired 80 rounds. I hope to go at least once a week now and plan to shoot approximately 100 rounds each time.

I use to go at least once a week, and try to take a tactical firearms course at least once a yr. However, I have been so broke the past year that I have only gone shooting a total of 8 times during the past year.

went this week. Only fired about 15 rounds.. just to zero my new rifle then have a couple targets with the X shoot out..
Have heard about AZ members driving out to the desert and shooting... anyone know of a place to do that in TX?

I try to go about once a month weather permitting. Usually with rifle and pistol. Maybe a total of about 100 rounds sometimes more(occasionally a lot more) rarely less.

Every two weeks usually. If it is at my club range then I probably shoot 150 rounds or so. If it is at a public forest range, then anywhere from 300 to 1000. If it is a shoot, 1000+

Not often enough. Five or six times during the year with .22 and 12 gauge. 200 rounds of .22 per and usually a couple of boxes of 12. There's a great place to go shooting on a friend's farm near my house, a big pit about 150 yds from end to end, with 25 foot sides. Cans, bottles, paper, wood, broken appliances are all targets that I shoot down there.

About 3 times a month... 200-300 rounds .223 per trip. I'm seriously considering a .22 to make things more economical and to vary things. I shoot two sets of 20 per 15 minute rotation which doesn't seem like a fast pace to me but the rounds add up quickly. I'm finding that with the rifle I want to spend more time at the range....

3 times a month in Spring, Summer & Fall. About once a month in the winter. (I hate shooting in the cold)

Today I took out my Bushmaster and my Norinco 1911. About 100 rounds through the rifle, sitting, prone & off-hand. 50 rounds through the .45 all off hand.

BTW, I have 160 acres I shoot on, 25 meter, 100 meters, and 300 meters. Also shoot trap.

In the past I would probably go 3-4 times a year, plus 2-5 times before hunting season. Lately I have been on a tear, tho-I can't imagine that this place had any effect on that.

I try and go twice a month now, I usually fire about 100-150 rounds of pistol, since that's what I am primarly trying to improve on now. If I bring my .22 rifle I have no idea how many rounds, 100's I'm sure. If I bring a centerfire rifle then probably another 50-100 with that.

2 times a week at least almost all year round. I will shoot in rain, snow, bitter cold, mud(lots of range renovations going on right now and it's been raining like crazy here) and even at night.

It helps that we have small building with 7 windows built for winter shooting. We shot smallbore all year long in some nasty conditions.

Once I joined my gunclub in November I went several times a week for the first 3 months. I went nuts. One time I went 8 days in a row. I've called down since then. Between rifle, pistol, and trap/skeet shooting I shoot about once a week. When I shoot my pistols I only shoot 50-100 rounds out of each. With my rifles I'll shoot 50-100 rounds on average. I'd rather shoot less rounds more frequently then do marathon sessions and only be able to afford to shoot once in a while.

usually 120 rds .223, 100 rds .45, and various amounts of whatever else i bring along, .22, 9mm, 30-06, etc.

Depends on where you're at in Texas. I'm in El Paso and surrounded by desert. I can go in any direction and find a secluded spot to set up and shoot.
