I need to haul a bunch of junk in my little Nissan 4-banger truck (2.4L), and I was wondering if I can attach a 6' trailer to the bumper to increase the load? I would expect the max would be 300 lbs. in the bed, and maybe another 300-400 lbs. in the trailer. I need to make several trips, involving some hills, perhaps 1000 miles in 10 trips? Can the truck handle it? Will it fry my new clutch?

should be fine with a 700 pound load+trailer

RTFM.  But, I can say that clutches are not meant for weight.  Be careful, a 4-banger stick is not meant for heavy duty in the bed.

Use 4-Lo range, you'll have a Toyota Ten Speed.

You need a bigger truck. This baby can tow 20 tons.

If I sold my truck, I might be able to buy a new set of tires for that thing.

Ain't that the truth, I thought I coudl overlaod a truck, and I have, badly, I thought I was the king, until I was down South (San Antonio area) and saw some Mexicans (I woudl think Illegals, legal residnets woudl never be that stupid) that had a little Datsun pickup (for lack of a better term) loaded so heavily their rear suspension was bottomed, completely out, I bet all their leaf springs were broke...

I had a Nissan.......If your going to put a ball hitch on your bumper trailer size and weight don't matter the thing you need to be looking at is the tounge weight! I would call a Nissan dealer and ask before you tow anything They will tell you the spec's for you Truck. If you do exceed the tounge weight or GVWR Limit it'll tear your bumber right off One phone call will save you alot of trouble
