This. Is he just setting the drain or installing the stall, pouring concrete and/or hot mopping?

If you find a REPUTABLE plumber with good references (and I am not talking YELP or Google where friends can write glowing reviews) then go with it.

ALOT. This is round 2 after paying someone with "good references" $2500 to do it last time I'm going to do it.

I'll quikrete it back in.

We charge 96.50 a hour. Judging from you pic I would have to replace your P-trap. I dont even know what that is to the left of your p-trap, part of the old drain?

Off the top of my head I would say 6hr to 8hr to set the base, this would include 2 trips if I had to bust up/ re pour some of the concrete in order to replace the P-trap. Might be more, Might be less, most estimates are based on the worst case so you are better off getting a round about price and then having them work time + material.

Sounds like a quick $1000 to me.

OP, DIY FTW!

How much should a plumber charge? As much as you are willing to pay, plus $1.

Seriously.

$65-$90 an hour around here.

I'm sure it varies greatly from area to area, but I'd expect $60 per hour minimum from a plumber that is a professional.

ETA; "How much might a plumber charge" would be a better thread title. "should" has nothing to do with what it will cost.

I charge them.

It works better than the whole "Well,  the guy who installed this was either drunk, stoned, or stupid... possibly both, so I had to do a lot of other stuff...".

When they know that they are working off their "Arrival fee", "destination charge", and "water usage allocation (whoops, you went over!)" made up shit,

combined with my "pipe hitters' Union" shirt and naked lower half, we come to a quick understanding.

This.

The really fat guys with a lot of ass hanging out the back of their jeans charge the most, but they are usually the most knowledgeable too.
